One game, two games... what's the difference?

(almost) nobody buys both of them. The thing that matters is this is going to be a new game, and Grey would not. They  would both cost the same.

How's that more greedy?

I would have to take from the fact that if they are getting it this Fall, the USA will as well. Good.. Good...

Will it be exactly the same as the last games though? I was waiting for the announcement and all I could think is how incredibly well suited pokemon is to a full-scale console RPG. But they haven't done that on the N64/GC/Wii, so probably there won't be an awesome pokemon RPG on Wii U either.

DAMN SHAME.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl outsold platinum by around 10million units if VGchartz is of any indication sales wise. Marketing this as a black/white sequel is a far more lucrative sales model than Grey would have been. If this is a new experience full of new features I'll hold my tongue, but if I see even see one reused animated sprite and/or unchanged town then I'll be beyond disappointed and they'll be no better than the likes of Infinity Ward.

its funny how people are mad that they made a 2nd black and white when most of you would have equally been as upset at a pokemon grey.

Some of you are thinking this is milking, uhh no, making a grey would have been milking, this is a NEW game! so what if its the same engine, it makes sense.

and as far as pushing boundaries, when did gamefreak ever make a part 2 of any of their games...well there you go.

Pokemon belongs to nintendo, they can do what they want, none of you are the authority just because you purchase their products. No one tells an artist how to make their art.

Couldn't agree more. 

This kind of attitudes are what creates extreme schisms between fans in most long running series. Some fans believe that the series should go the way they want to and then complain when it deviates even slightly from their "plans" for it. While other fans just appreciate what they're given if the end product is of good quality and actually offers something good and exciting. 

Speaking for myself, i'm much more excited for a true sequel of the best pokemon games of all time (IMO Black&White overcame the greatness that were Gold&Silver) than I would have been for a remake with added features and story events, even if I would have loved that remake, just as I loved Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Platinum.

In a way, Gamefreak are taking a huge risk with this one, since there has never been a true sequel to the pokemon games. One could argue that they attempted to do so with Pokemon Gold&Silver, but it played out differently than a normal sequel (though I did love being able to explore both Johto and Kanto at the same time). This time, we don't know what to expect from these new games, and that's something to really look forward to

And of course they'll use assets from the previous games, every sequel in existence does that. How's that evil?

And they'll become evil by making a new game? Why weren't they evil for you when they released Blue (jp), Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Platinum... which are nothing more than expanded games.

I sincerely don't get your point. I honsestly thought this was going to be the end the trend of complains every 3rd version of the game gets when it's announced. BTW, Pokémon 3DS is going to come, the thing just turned 1 right now and will have one of the most busy years in history for games... Pokémon would be overdoing 2012!

OMG I am gonna repeat myself, but I'm literally tearing my hair out lol. Just think what the 3DS sales would have been like with an autumn release of these games on the 3DS.
