Two(or three) units! http://t.co/Hk90fY6j http://t.co/wwDBlmyl It took it four days to sell this much? I do sometimes wonder why it took this long to make a sell. Also, here's a photo to show that Wal-Mart isn't carrying the 3G model. http://t.co/x0IQhfIP And proof that this is today: http://t.co/w8R89c18 Anyway, I also went to Gamestop today and found out that the Vita is selling at a very low pace and they still have plenty of models. One clerk said that it's because of the price. Another clerk said that the Vita was a dream come true and he really likes the rear touch pad. To sum up, the Vita is selling, but at a very slow rate. I agree with the Gamestop clerk that one of the main problems is the price. Nintendo made the mistake at selling the 3DS at that price and we all know how that turned out. Now, Sony is making the same mistake, but I think it's going to be a much harder hit. |
I don't doubt what you're saying, but I do think that that poor of performance may be due to some local considerations ...
With that said, I don't think anyone would disagree that price is one of the PS-Vita's biggest problem right now; but I would say that apathy is just as large (if not larger) of a problem. While I talk to many people about gaming regularly in real life, I have only had one converstation with anyone about the PS-Vita so far and what she said was (essentially) "Didn't Nintendo already demonstrate that no one was willing to spend $250 on a handheld? Sony's insane if they think the PS-Vita will be popular at that price when the 3DS wasn't."
Price is a problem that can be resolved fairly quickly, apathy is a much more challenging problem to address.
I would hope soon. I just went to gamestop yesterday and asked them how it was selling, and they pointed to their stack of them, and said not good. And that is with what I consider to be a very good launch lineup of games.
Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

The launch lineup will soon get worse. It happened to the Japanese lineup, it will happen to the American and European lineups. |
What do you mean? Are you talking about other releases within the launch window?
In my country the Wi-fi model is in 500 dollars, no 3G model available. So its very expensive and Sony should reduce the price soon, in comparison the 3DS cost 315 dollars.

No, the very same games that are out now. Before launch they are amazing, but once the sales come in and show that they failed to move the hardware, they will be relegated to "not good enough" status and people will demand killer apps and/or a price cut. |
Yes I see your point and agree...I must question a launch lineup when the only 2 games I'm remotely interested in are ports of games I already own and weren't exactly system movers or even big sellers when released on other platforms.
No price cut, they'll just make it into a bundle of some sort for awhile.
Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Im hoping they do something like that as we get close to the months of Oct-Nov.
