What do you think? It's a nice simple design. Android on the move, and desktop at home + TV UI.

I feel like this is inevitable. I may be wrong. Ubiquitous networking and specialized devices might be a better solution.

I suspect this concept will need some additional development and polish before it's ready for primetime, though. And possibly a Thunderbolt port. I'd try it out right now if i had an Android device, though.

This is definitely how I want Android to proceed.

However, I'd be happier if it was a Google Chrome/TV experience than Ubuntu. Though, I do like that this Ubuntu build will allow you access to your apps, so in reality it may not matter in long run.

Now the only draw back is whether or not your phone has a dock with the appropriate outputs to connect to a monitor and kb/ms. If so, then you're set for not needing a laptop/computer, depending on your type of usage of course.

That would be a more integrated system, and more in line with Google's development. Maybe in the not so far future.

I've been really interested in seeing more docks for devices such as phones/tablets, and with hybrid systems coming out plus all of this (Ubuntu, Windows, Google), it's going to be very interesting how all these different OS fuse together into one device and the connectivity solutions for real life situations.

Great news for Android, and maybe even more for Ubuntu, as the Android market can give it a huge boost. Excellent news for Ubuntu users, the lower computing power of smartphones compared to notebooks and desktops will push towards efficiency in applications development.
