I guess no Wii U version?

Excellent! And as building a gaming PC is getting cheaper and cheaper as time goes by, I expect this trend to get stronger.

I refuse to be excited for this until I see something... Solid.

Rising can go die in a shitty hole.

Man, I have to know. Did you hate the look of Rising from the start? You did, right?

While it was still MGS: Rising, I wasn't the biggest fan but I could still see the potential there. I generally dislike everything what it turned into though.

What it was before wasn't actually a game, though, it was just a cutting simulator. Gameplay clips didn't show anything good in terms of movement and absolutely nothing in terms of stealth.

I think it was the E3 2010 Trailer that showed him running around and cutting people up? Sure, it also had him cutting cars in half and a melon, but it looked like gameplay was there.

I thought it certainly looked better than the recent stuff.

This calls for a thread by CGI!!!

LET THE HYPE BEGIN! MGS4 was the defining game of the generation for me. I nearly shat myself when the Shadow Moses section kicked in.

This might sound silly, but I hope it's PS exclusive. The IP means a lot to the PS brand.

NICE CATCH OP.

Do you remember the scene when Johnny Sasaki (Akiba) takes off his mask and we all notice he looks a lot like Snake?

I wonder if it´s a hint he´ll be "the next Snake"...having Solid Snake as his mentor or something..

Oh god I hope not.

He was a just a funny afterthought of the old games, but the way they tried to make his character important in the 4th was embarassing.

The first image of the next MGS game,

My favourite franchise of all time. Bring it on, Kojima. I'm ready.

Go back and watch it again. It was playable, yes, but cutting was pretty much all you could do. There was no real melee system, no way to defend against sustained fire from guns, movement was sluggish - the game going into slow-mo to let you line up a slice really highlighted what was wrong with the concept of the game before. It looked like it was going to play terribly, and that's very probably why it was scrapped.
