Forums - Microsoft - Ninja Gaiden II disc, Defective?

I just recently bought a fresh copy of Ninja Gaiden 2 from amazon and the piece of shit won't work! (excuse me, Im really crabby right now). Everytime I pop it in, it just goes dark as soon as it loads. Occasionaly (it happened twice) I see the "now loading" message but it still went black and nothing happened.  I wait patiently for it to load but nothing happened. I've already looked online for this particualr issue but to no avial. Any other tips, I would really appreciate it. I've already done the following.......

Checked the disc for damage (possibly from shipping) - Nothing.

Made sure all my other games worked - They work perfectly.

Inserted the game multiple times - The same result.

Cleaned it for any smuges or dust -Still won't work.(no scratches either)

Can't think of anything else, except to ask my freind to try it out to see if it will work on his 360. I've  read all about the technical issues with this game but none of them I found had anything to do with the game not even loading. Any kind of help would be appreciated. If it wont work, then I'll send it back for a refund and get a replacement.

use your friends 360. the only other suggestion i have is try putting the disk in at different points. rotate it, you may find the right spot for it to play.

the same thing happened to me with Resistance 1, but that was after i beat it.

Hhmm I'll try that right after I ask my friend. If his 360 wont read it, then im returning it and see if I can get a replacement. Thanks for your help.

anytime. thats why near 80k members are on the site for right? ask, and someone may have an answer.

next time make a thread title in reference to the game in question so you can get more hits/suggestions. then again, it's not to late to change the thread title

I just did. It was just that it was getting late (need my sleep) and I needed to post this a.s.a.p. Thx

Try clearing the cache on your 360 (google it), that has worked for me when funny things like that have happened before.

I just did that twice.....nothing. @ MARCUSDJACKSON I placed the disc on the tray like ya said and for some strange reason it said disc was unreadable. I put it back in, didn't happen again. Might as well send it back.

Did you try installing it to the hdd?
