Forums - Nintendo - How did all the Nintendo fans end up on this site?

Where Sony fans have a large presence on this site because they have a large presence on every site, Nintendo fans were attracted by:

a) The sales numbers, which at the time showed Nintendo winning by a huge margin
b) Much better than average moderation, which meant that anti-Nintendo trolling (and trolling in general) was rare.

It was the sales that brought me here.

I got into an argument on GameFAQs and started looking for sales data. Found this site in google and was surprised that something like it didn't exist sooner. A couple of months later I actually signed up for an account and started posting and following the sales data.

Back then the site was mostly Nintendo fans with a loud minority of Sony fans, and literally about 3 users championing Xbox 360 (including legend11). It was sort of balanced out though because several of the mods at the time were huge Sony fanboys and were not afraid to flaunt their power to support their views. The site's numbers were also under constant criticism by the Sony crowd at the time, with constant cries that Nintendo numbers were overtracked and Sony numbers were undertracked. So if you're wondering why they respond so harshly to those sort of insinuations now, just know that they put up with that BS for years beforehand.

I am not denying that I am old. Gaming keeps me young.

Sales data I guess... I dont even remember how did I end here honestly... I do remeber though that I was tired of ign & gamespot... On another topic I really liked the old layout, all the info and charts on the same page...

I was attracted to it's non-trollish nature and the sales data was an interesting feature.

The first time I was just google to compare console sales. In my country, Nintendo doesn't had a lot of fans and I had a lot arguments with another fans. So I need data to counter our argument, and here I am.

becoming less and less interested, but i'm a ninty fan.

How can I obtain your interest more?  Do you have a 3DS?  If not then what is wrong with you?

let it be known i love all my fellow ninty fans on the site.

no i don't have a 3DS(i'm a late adopter/Vita before 3DS though), and i've gamed on every ninty system, N64 is the best Ninty system ever made, and it's my second most gamed (time spent playing) on system with PS3 (strangely enough)being number one.

srry friend, you can do nothing; it's all about ninty, and wht they make, and how they change going forward. established ip are not a driving force as a reason for me to purchase any platform, otherwise i wouldn't own a console this gen.

i got a PS3 cause i knew wht to expect from Sony, and a Wii cause i'm a ninty fan, but being a fan can only carry a system(for me) so far before you wonder; whts new, why isn't this innovation being used on new ip, why can't i stand Mario when he use to be my go to character(i'll always love Kirby).

while there are ninty (fire emblem, pokemon) franchises that i've spent little to no time with. i'm near done with ninty, but like Sega, i'll always be a fan.
