Forums - Nintendo - 3DS Analog Stick

I don't know what to say. Maybe I'm just awesome. I adapted to the 3DS Circle Pad in seconds. I love it. I used to prefer the pad on the PSP at first but last week I bought both God of War games, Metal Gear Solid (PS1), and Def Jam Vendetta from the PSN to play on my PSP. Suddenly, after months of playing mostly 3DS, the PSP's nub felt weird. It didn't last long, though. I think I'll adapt to the Vita in no time, too.

My gripes with the 3DS are that it's too thin. I have to use a third party grip to get it to feel good in my huge hands. That's one of the reasons why I love the CIrcle Pad Pro (two Circle Pads!? I LOVE IT!). My second gripe is that it's been ages since I had to use a traditional Nintendo configured pad. I've adapted to the Xbox 360. The A,B,X,Y buttons are the opposite on Microsoft's device. Whenever a game asks me to press "X", I always press "Y". It's not Nintendo's fault but, because I go back and forth almost daily, I can't get used to one setup anymore.

I have had no problems with it. I actually like it quite a bit. I find it pretty comfortable and precise. Maybe it is your putting too much pressure on it which makes your finger slide off?

Galaki, I got the same farming one-ups in Mario 3D Land. Right at the base of my thumb I was getting cramps. But other than that challenge, where I needed to keep Y depressed and spam b, my hands are fine. It's my neck that's really starting to hurt! :S

I have not tried pressing buttons with my neck yet. I'd imagine that's gotta be painful.

It is. :S :P

The 3DS Slider Pad is great. I just love the feel and responsivness of the slider. It probably would be in the running for my favorite slider pad/analog stick of all time if not for the one problem it has. You can't hold it in one direction for too long without your finger slipping off. There are not many games that require you to hold the pad in one direction long enough for your finger to slip off; however, the one game that gave me porblems was The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. When running through Hyrule Field in one linear direction I kept having to readjust my thumb. Not that big of a deal, but if you're trying to do the horse race in TLOZ:OOT and need to readjust, then you're screwed. If you lift your finger off that pad for 1 second then your horse reduces it's speed significantly. That's the only game that gave me a little trouble. Overall I love the pad (much better than the Vita's midget analog sticks).

You must be rubbing it too hard or too fast. You need to ease into it, find a good grip, and give it a more consistent pressure and speed.

I have to say it... THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!! XD Sorry...

I've never had a problem with it at all.

It has felt pretty comfortable to me but I haven't extensively played any games that use it. I'm downloading the Snake Eater demo now.
