I would have loved to try it on my PS3. It is seriously lacking in RPGs right now. Oh well.

Seriously lacking in good RPG perhaps? I would think Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur qualify as RPGs, having one brand new RPG and one less than 6 months old seems like a console is fairly well served by RPGs at the moment.

The PS3 and 360 have a similar amount of RPG's.

It's a bit sad, I would have liked to play Witcher 2 on my PS3 since it takes forever before I get a PC powerful enuff to handle it on highest settings and the X360 version is no option for me because I can't stand the noice of my nearly five year old Xbox 360

Installing the game to hard drive would solve that problem and used 20 or 60 gig drives are pretty cheap now.

Interesting that they chose to make it exclusive to 360 rather than PS3. Maybe its easier to develop for 360 or more likely it'll just flat out sell more probably close to double the amount if it was made exclusive for the PS3.

Best would have been to develop for both platforms, but since they had to choice, they made the sound and reasonable choice. Heck I'm so happy that I have Kingdoms of Amalur and Witcher 2 to play for my 360. Its gonna be epic.

RPG games sell the most in US and there's more X360 there + CDP stated that Witcher 2 developement for PS3 would cost +75% more than X360 port of the game.

They said their team is too small to develop for two consoles at the same time. It would have to be one after the other so they got it right.

Total respect for not having unnecessarily cut in smaller chunks the main quests in the PC version. So wished also Thief III devs were so serious and respectful of PC gamers , back in XB1 times...

Well I think it's mainly because they want to break into the US market more, PC gaming and the witcher brand is stronger in Europe than the USA and the 360 is strongest in the USA so the PC/360 combo kinda makes more sense for expanding the brand in America.

WRPGs usally sell better on 360 as well,

Skyrim 360 5,249,348 PS3 3,192,433

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning 360 298,951 PS3 193,551

Dragon Age: Origins 360 2,236,822 PS3 1,426,982

Dungeon Siege III 360 227,843 PS3 214,796

Two Worlds II 360 364,537 PS3 287,291

Xbox 360 just flat out has a bigger WRPG audience. In Europe the 360 seems to have an edge on the genre as well.

Mass Effect 1 and Oblivion came to the 360 first. Fable is a huge success. Several PC games came exclusively to the 360. On top of that 360 gets the better ports so this has all allowed the 360 to get an edge on the genre.

I'm really glad for the exclusivity for Microsoft. They are severely lacking in that department.
