HTC will be launching PlayStation Certified devices following a deal with Sony, according to report.

Citing unnamed 'sources', Pocket-lint says the mobile company will be the first company outside of Sony to secure the 'PlayStation Certified' program for its devices later this year.

The deal will allow HTC smartphones and tablets to run the PSone and PSN games currently available to PS Certified devices such as Sony's Xperia Play phone.

While HTC has responded saying it cannot "comment on rumors or speculation", Pocket-lint (viaIndustry Gamers) says an announcement is possible at the trade show Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which kicks off on February 27.

Hmmm... I'm curious as to what this could mean for Vita titles on PSN in the future... I really hope those are kept off of other platforms. Being able to play the software without having to buy the hardware would create huge problem for the Vita.
