hm, counting million sellers shows Wii has more party/sports/fitness/platformer/adventure and simulation, lacking largely in fighting, racing where it's got the biggest sellers of the gen by far!?

Wii hasn't got as many shooters and action games, where Ps3/Xbox360 million sellers are found, but still has a respectable amount of million sellers in that area, so i wouldn't say it's lacking, it's just not focused there

if you take into account that Wii has best racing (MKW) and best fighter (SSBB), then it is not really lacking in these genres because it's got the top titles of those genres because sales are concentrated there, so million sellers cannot say Wii lacks racers or fighters

not to mention that Wii has obviously the higest number of under-appreciated, highly rated by low selling games by far (and none of them are party titles or sports) , so million sellers is still not quite valid for saying Wii is only party/sports

8 of the Wii's 18 are made up by dance, fitness and mini-games.......'nuff said.

You just invalidated your own argument.

Considering the HD twins have had far more game support and their Meta>Wii's I can't understand how you came to that conclusion

i know HD twins have much more game support and higer meta-score, it's a fact, i would never deny that

it's just that Wii has many games which compared the the meta-scores sold bad, and all of them are in the action/shooter/rpg area, they are good games but not million sellers, so just counting million sellers does not prove Wii lacks in those genres

HD twins games sell accoarding to meta-score MOST of the times, so counting their million sellers distribution is more accurate

however, counting Wii million seller genres, only proves that the Wii audience is interested mostly in those genres, does not show how may good games the Wii has on each genre, take No More Heroes, Conduit, Little King's Story, Scarface, GodFather, high ratings, no sales because of Wii-type of audience, but still exist on Wii for the minority

sure the HD got some under-appreciated games, but not even close to how many the Wii has got

This thread is funny, lots of bullshit being thrown around.

I'd like to add that Castle Crashers is far, far away from platforming land. Its like a modern day Golden Axe and it's brilliant

Isn't that the point of the thread, to see how varied Wii owners' tastes are?

Sort of - it was to challenge a claim made in another thread that the games that had sold enormous numbers on the Wii showed Wii owners to have the least varied game tastes.  A few people have suggested that the OP claimed a few things that were never claimed at all.

Which argument?

i don't say Wii owners have the most varied tastes, although i wouldn't say that for HD owners either.... (hm hm shooters)

what i'm saying is that Wii has many quality games for every genre so it's more diverse, even if they don't sell what they deserve (which is the reason Wii has almost no 3rd party support atm), they still exist for the minority Wii audience

HD audience is way too shooters based, that's why they call themselves mature, because they like guns, blood and monsters

thats one fighting game versus how much on PS360??

1 mil 5 20, its nonsense, that is NOT how you determine who has the most diverse game library. The only way to do that is to simply just count the games in every genre for each title and see where the disparity is

Yeah it's unfortunately true so I kind of agree.

Besides, there seems to be an unhealthy obssession for setting stuff in worlds people definitely wouldn't like to live by themselves. I don't think it's an artistic challenged to build dystopian worlds, since we live in one after all, and "dying planet down to a few survivors" isn't anything new, and that's the reason The Last of Us echoed  "plot of boring" in my head.
