they are rounding up to 350 for wii+wii fit because of tax (really it's about 340 after tax)

see, you guys fit into the 'workout' demographic...u guys run and may lift weights, etc

but the people who will mostly buy wii fit are the ones who sign a 3year contract for gym membership at 50/month and go maybe 2 times...the people who buy abcizers and thighmasters and the vibrating ab machine and all those other devices

Those little machines don't cost $350+ if you were to add everything up. Even those Bowflex machines hover below $100.

For some reason I thought $50. $70 ain't too bad. Yeah, that would just make it below $350 here.

Are you thinking of something else? Bowflexes cost well over $2,000!

Regardless, I think if you put the cost of the Wii + Wii Fit up against a treadmill, an eliptical, a bench, or whatever, the Wii + Wii Fit will win on price.

Wii Fit will sell big, but people using its numbers over the HOLIDAY PERIOD as evidence for it selling big all year round is stupid.

I can see who it will attract, and I think it will get alot of sales (not 15 million like people are predicting), but whether or not people actually use it is another matter but in this situation all people care about are sales and not product useage.

Im much happier paying my £25 a month to go to the gym three/four times a week than buy Wii Fit. You can go out and buy balance boards and instruction DVD's, but I dont see many people doing that to be honest. Maybe in the mid 90's, but I havent seen it since then.

People claiming WiiFit constitutes the same amount of exercise as..well...actual exercise should spend 2 hours at a gym. If WiiFit has me sweating all over after 2 hours Ill stand corrected, but I dont see it happening.

I thought WiiFit was suppose to cost $69.99 US.

Gamestop no longer lists it, but I hope it is correct. It costs about 8800 yen in Japan which would be 80.46 US Dollors. I think 69.99 is the likely price.

I don't think anybody even so much as mentioned it, but WiiSports sold because it was FUN. Exercise, sweating, etc. are byproducts of the fun factor. Since we don't know what WiiFit is like, it is hard to make an assumption on whether it will have as much fun in it as WiiSports.

So, rocketpig, if it does turn out similarly to WiiSports, I'd have to respectfully say that it will most likely hit 10 million minimum.

As for SSBB, I imagine it will sell a lot as well, though not 15 million. Might not even reach 10 million, but we can dream, right? :P

Only a select few on these forums have said those two games will sell astronomically. I think you've overreacted, rocket.

Yeah, that's rights. Then what the hell was it that I had in mind? If I see the commercial for it, then I will most certainly post it.

You are going to compare the Wii with the high-end stuff? While I can see someone getting a workout on the board, I can see a better workout on those more expensive machines.

I don't think Wii Fit will break 10 million. Honestly, I really don't. I would guess about 8 million lifetime worldwide, which is HUGE for a peripheral game. I completely agree with Rocketpig that there IS a limit to Wii Fit's audience, and that limit is cost.

That said, Wii games have surprised me before. SMG looks like it's shooting for over 10 million and I fully expect both Brawl and Mario Kart to do just as much.
