PS Vita needs apps...mostly it needs all the best games from iOS and Android, but it also needs the most popular apps. Does Vita even have an email app?

Well it needs the console games, too...but the point is the concole style games should only be a portion of the games on the Vita, the majority should be app style games and new IPs designed specifically for Vita.

but I thought PSP is a success at 70m?..

Sony is praying the PSV is as failure as the PSP.

It sold less than half of its competitor, and had one of the worst software to hardware ratios in industry history, suggesting that many people used it as a media device rather than a game playing machine. Furthermore, outside of Japan, support mostly ended around 2008, prematurely cutting its life short by two years and giving the impression of it failing to many people. It was a sucess, but not to the same scale as any of Nintendo's equivalent machines.

Agreed completely. But unfortunately doesnt mean that its Sonys personal agenda.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
