i think the ps3 will probably stay roughly the same(at least i hope),but When killzone 2 comes out the will be a huge sales spike and after that....who knows

I'm thinking about getting a ps3 sometime this year.

It's very hard to say, but Japan numbers were about triple of what I expected! Good week overall on the hardware front. DS keeps trouncing all, nothing new there.
I feel more reasured now that the PS3 really will pick up the pace this year, and I think my predictions might come true.

 Indeed. But a price cut will have no effect what so ever in Japan, it's simply treading water even if the waters are shallower than last gen. EU/Others; price cut could have an effect, but I just don't see the X-box brand ever gaining a true following there, I just don't think it will improve significantly. The original X-box was practically given away in it's last 2 years, but EU/Others still didn't seem to want it.

PS3 has played AT LEAST two years of pricing strategy in one to get it in some way compeditive, so it's success is based on the software in 2008 which should be ok. But i do think the ps3 may need more than 2008 to really get back on it's feet, that is if it ever becomes the success that seemingly everyone expected. But i do think it will sell at a reasonable rate or at least a non disasterous rate.

I think with better titles being released in 2008 the PS3 will have a much better year then last. Dunno bout the 360, the Wii will either have a great year or an Excellent year.

I still think ps3 is undertracked in NA by about 10%.

why is everyone surprised about japan sales?? i thought january was basically the holiday month for japan.... yes i think the trend will continue it will be close though..... until MS cuts the price... then sony will probably regain it once they cut the price two months after microsoft...
