Well, they announced online multiplayer for this awhile ago. I can't imagine there would be a big market for DLC for this game.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I doubt it's dlc; they are launching Nintendo Network as the unified online service for 3DS and Wii U, so it makes sense to have that logo on games that have online multiplayer. They didn't have the Wi Fi Connection logo on Kart 7, which uses Nintendo Network for online multiplayer, and I'm assuming they didn't have the Network logo because Kart 7's release was pushed forward ahead of the official announcement of NN. I expect that logo will appear on all 3DS/Wii U games with online functionality.
