don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
When the successor to the market leading console launches before its main competition it has typically dominated the generation ... All else being equal, the successor to a market leading console will sell better and have better third party support due to the success of the previous generation system. All else being equal, the system that launches first will sell better because it will have a large library and lower price than its competition.
While its obvious that all else will never be equal, there are very few things that have been demonstrated to be able to compensate for either of these advantages and none that have compensated for both. The best chance Sony and Microsoft have is producing something more innovative than what Nintendo is doing, but I'm not convinced either is dedicated enough to this to be successful. With Microsoft I expect them to produce an enhanced Kinect system which I doubt will drive sales because it is already an established set-up with a lot of baggage; while many people like it, people know what it is and have developed opinions and expectations surrounding it. I'm less certain of what Sony will do but, having seen the PS-Vita, I have doubts that their strategy has shifted enough to really try to produce anything particularly new or unexpected.
Can't tell ya till I have details on pricing and maybe a bit of information on launch lineups.
I can see PS4 winning next gen if it has good launch games and is equal to or cheaper than its competitors.
well lets see when does xbox 720 launch ? no one knows . ps4 ? well we have to see how vitA DOES
and with that I can easily go with Wii u if the past repeats it self (the one who comes out with cheaper hardware and ,,, lets see is actually doing somthing more then a graphical boost ) and so far that looks like the Wii U to me ,. its already got killer third party stuff announced .
we just wait for Nintendo ! e3 2012 then we shall make a good prediction right now its to early but if i based it off the past gen -- Wii u is my favorite . because
in the past nintendo sold more nes and more snes
sony then went on to sell more ps1 and ps2's
so if nintendo rides the momentum . - - it will get there
and dont you say lightning don't strike twice i learned the hard way watching the giants game tonight

This thread makes no sense, you ask which next-gen console will sell the best in the title then you ask for which will sell the best out of Wii U/PS3/X360 but the PS3 and 360 are current gen and when the Wii U launches they will be last gen.
My only guess is that this is a pathetic attempt of a joke where you troll people by implying that the Wii U is a last gen console for some unknown reason. But then you screwed it up

this is going to sound funny coming from a PC, PS, and Nintendo fan but i favor next box next gen, but i won't buy one cause MS won't go the direction i'm looking for.
but it really all depends on if Sony can bring the heat. PS1 and 2 had everything in bulk, and if Sony can bring that next gen, then i can see them winning a very tight race.
Umm very sorry to say this but graphics does not determine hardware generation. Considering the WiiU is between 2 and 5 times the graphical power and with the next Xbox rumored to be only 6x the power of 360 and only 20% more powerful then WiiU.
The whole idea that WiiU is a last generation console is laughable and extremely biased. In fact even Nintendo Wii is indeed the same generation as 360 and PS3. The hardware was brand new and unique it was launched during that generation.
The WiiU is definitely next generation.
Plus sorry next generation starts later this year. The 360 and PS3 are not next generation systems. Its far to early to conclude who might win the next generation. I would say based on rumors of the two rumored consoles WiiU and next box.
