Take-Two assured investors in a financials call today that development of Grand Theft Auto V is "making great progress", despite staying well away from determining a window of release.

Analysts expect Grand Theft Auto 5 to launch in Take-Two's upcoming financial year - ending March 31, 2013 - despite an increasingly crowded release schedule for the publisher, but the firm chose not to address talks of a release date during today's call.

 

"Grand Theft Auto V is making great process," said T2 boss Strauss Zelnick.

Without going into specifics, Zelnick offered assurance the the game "promises to continue Rockstar's incredible track record of delighting fans by raising the bar in interactive entertainment".

I was thinking spring 2012 for awhile xD

It's just because they were so far into development when that awesome trailer (DAT TRAILER!) released. I forgot how much polish/extra content like mini-games etc rockstar put time into.

It would of been a GTAIV clone though :/

They need to make it completely different even in the visuals!

Judging by the trailer, it will be very different, including the visuals! Looks a lot better than GTAIV, man I'm so looking forward to that game. Can't wait to mess about online with people in free roam :D

I think this game won't dissapoint. As much as I want the gme to get released ASAP, I would rather them take their time with it and release another great game like GTA IV.

I'm glad to hear it might take until 2013. My wallet is already spoken for RE6, CoD?, and WiiU among others. But when it comes its gonna rock.

Yes, but May 13 2013 would be reasonable

Hmmm, I always imagined that it will be released this Q4, but its logical. Why go head-on against CoD and Halo, when you can have a full 9 months all for yourself... cause lets be honest, sales wise, if it releases next spring it will be the biggest game until the next CoD launches

Yes, but May 13 2013 would be reasonable

Take Two said that it will release before the end of their fiscal year, 31 March 2013.
