Forums - Nintendo - Should 2D Mario 3DS be Wii-U compatible like Smash Bros?

Brawl is going to get home/mobile compatibility. Why shouldn't 2D Mario have it too?

Wii Sports -U could be compatibe with Brain Training Sports 3DS.

Wii Fit U could have some pedometer gimmick as  a mobile 3DS app.

Mario Kart Wii-U could make new tracks available on MK 7.

Pokemon would be ripe for this too with that stadium stuff.

The Nintendo Network could see all Virtual console games linked to an account and so playable at home and on the move.

Combine this with shitty, free pokemon/mario apps with little/no content (cheap advertising) on non-gaming dedicated devices like iphones, pc's and bluray players and Nintendo has it's own gaming ecosystem going.

That.... is a very interesting idea.

I thought for a long time that the Poke-pedometer with Heart Gold and Soul Silver was kind of a precursor to 3DS functionality. Now, if they expand on that for more games... yeah... yeah...

It also kinda follows with Nintendo's emphasis on 'peak graphics'.

They must have realised long ago that once the home systems graphics peak then mobile wouldn't be far behind. The visual difference between their mobile and home system now is near negligible given most of Nintendo's stuff is 'cartoony'/easily scaleable.

Obviously it has the potential to 'half' software sales.

I really think you shouldn't put "half" in quotes there, it implies you mean something besides what yo uare saying. So what are you saying?

The last part will never happen. The first parts?... pretty good ideas.

I can see all of that happening except for the last one lol.

But would Nintendo be up to it though, we'll know in the future!

Yes, Nintendo did say they would never do that.
