I agree with just about everything the article says. Imo it's a freaking disaster the game took five years to develop but was still less enjoyable than Twilight Princess.

There's only one real reason...
Continuing to let Aonuma have his way.

He has even admitted that pleasing Miyamoto is priority one. Why not just give the series back to him altogether?
I deeply played Zelda SS for weeks. It's one of the best game I played, like Okami. I simply don't agree with you. The use of motion control give depth to the game and shows how a motion control can increase the battle feeling, the story is amazing, the dungeons and pests A class. The famous "backtracking" a false issue. The best Zelda ever played, the best game of 2012 on every platform.

That article is too full of hate and makes tiny, tiny problems appear as huge issues that renders the game unplayable. Who cares if they don't show every character in the ending sequence? I will probably remember a lot of the people in Skyloft much better than I remember any other cast of minor characters from past Zelda games. The "disconnected" feel of the areas of the game is the only valid complaint, and even then it isn't that big a deal.
I still have to pick it back up from when I took a break after completing the forest temple. The game just does not grab me the way past Zeldas have. Okami, 3D dot game heroes and Majin and the forsaken kingdom all kept my attention far better then skyward sword. I want to like it, I want that Zelda magic back :/ I think the main problem for me is that it is too predictable.
I agree with everything, but if this was my list of five failures I'd replace Fi with motion controls. Fi only annoyed me a little, but every time I played the game I wished I could use a regular controller instead of having to swing a Wii-mote. Did Skyward Sword do motion controls right? Yes. Are motion controls right for Zelda? No.
Motion controls ARE right for Zelda; perhaps they're just not right for you.
Anyway, this is yet another whiny article with only one legitimate complaint - Fi is fucking annoying.
