I think the gameplay looks awesome. Even though it still looks like it needs some polish here and there. No wonder its in alpha stage of developement in that moment.
Either way, Im gladly looking forward to seeing this game getting released.

You say it will flop but then fail to give a reason, great work buddy. |
A niche title on a system without the userbase to support niche titles.
Cutesy graphics on a system whose playerbase likes gritty, realistic graphics.
A 2D game on a system primarily touted for its 3D capabilities.
A 2D platformer on a system that nobody bought to play 2D platformers.
That, and the gameplay just looks downright dull. It's like somebody took the platformer genre, stripped out everything that made it fun (speed, variety, exploration), left the annoying things (collectathons), and added all new annoying things (repetitive-looking puzzles).
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

You might think that. But I got Locoroco cocorecheo (spelling?) and it was awesome!!!
Yes
They have a LOT of things they need to work out better... the gameplay in the first video looks horrible at the moment. They've given space to a 2d game and now the jumping up to another level looks super annoying. I don't think many people will like having to jump like that. It's way too easy to miss judge where you are. Hopefully they work some of this out before it's release. They should have looked to Loco Roco for some inspiration and stuck with a flat world rather then trying to give it space.
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
This game looks amazing.
The developers at media molecule have stated that even they themselves aren't sure how far players will be able to go into customizing & creating massively interactive worlds within LittleBigPlanet...the possibilities are ridiculously endless.
I also found it interesting that Sony and media molecule are actually looking to link other development houses and let fellow developers release their very own LBP content via PSN, im honestly really looking forward game and the amount of energy it'll bring to the industry.
cant wait for this game. Doubters are retards.

i like how this is a new genre. 2D racing platformer. Awesomeness.

Then online games like Super Stardust HD are "flops" because it doesn't have the userbase....
No, it's actually doing good, and unlike Super Stardust or other online games, LittleBigPlanet is getting the media attention, it has received awards, more people are aware of this title, and I guess it's safe to say that it's being "hyped."
Regarding your point about 2D, well, the same can be said in regards to Dreamcast/PS2/Gamecube/Xbox: No one really bought those consoles with 2D in mind, but that didn't mean each console didn't see their fair share of 2D titles.
Your last point is more along the lines of opinion, and I'm not going to try to persuade you; you can have it.
