its listed as stealth .. so I guess it is. I remember my cousin playing it on PS2 and I dont remember it having anything to do with stealth.

didn't see a GOW4 coming but i'm looking forward to it. never played Syphon Filter, but if all holds true then Sony could be looking at another repeat win i 2012.
Hmm I'm not sure I like the GoW 4 news - they should keep GoW as starting tile for next gen console.

According to the latest issue of UK-based gaming publication PLAY, two brand new exclusive PS3 titles are gearing up for a full-blown reveal in February. Both Syphon Filter 4 and God of War IV are said to be deep in development, and will get a full announcement next month. In the “10 Games That Will Be Announced This Year” feature, PLAY states that the long-rumored Syphon Filter 4 is currently in development at SCE London Studio, with the espionage title pegged for a Winter 2012 release. “As far as our spies tell us, Syphon Filter 4 will be announced and released during 2012 – they’re not often wrong either. Developed by SCE London Studio (once thought to be Sony Bend), it will see a return to the world of shooting, espionage and Gabe Logan’s superb name.” Sony Santa Monica is also supposedly readying God of War IV for a February announcement, with PLAY teasingly hinting that a recent job listing for an online developer suggests that the action-packed title will feature online play. Both of the titles listed have an announcement window of February 2012 attached, leading many to believe that a barrage of new details may be coming sooner rather than later. “Sony Santa Monica’s call for an online dev to join its ranks has many thinking the inevitable God of War IV will include online play. We could stop and ask why, but then we could also ask there’s another game when GOW III was meant to be Kratos’s last outing. We’re not complaining though.”
wouldnt be suprised last few yrs its seems its been pretty much sony exclusive after sony exclusive releasing |
I am not convinced about SCE London making Syphon Filter. Any talent that they once had will have left due to them just making rubbish party games. I know they were making the Getaway and Eight Days there, but as well all know, they were cancelled. While it would be nice to see them making proper games again, I remain unconvinced
Also, we have to remember Sony Bend can't do it as they will be making Uncharted Vita 2. The other thing to considered is that there has been a Syphon Filter PS3 game rumoured basically every single year that they PS3 has been on sale, and nothing has ever come of it
As for God of War IV, I think that this is reasonable. With respect to the idea that SCE Santa Monica would be making a launch PS3 title, I think there are already enough studios on that with Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch and probably Guerilla and Media Molecule too. Also, God of War II came out after the PS3 was launched.
Having said that, I DON'T WANT IT! Kratos' story is told. While the gameplay is great, I also really love how they twist the Greek myths, and would love to see them do that for something else, especially as for other mythologies, the characters are going to be less well known beyond the name, and so they can do more with them and go even more crazy. I wouldn't mind a God of Thunder game, where my objective is to kill Thor
im shocked they wouldnt hold GOW4 as a PS4 launch title
I never really enjoyed Syphon Filter 1-3 but the PSP games were amazing, especially Dark Mirror. If they emulate the winning formula of the PSP releases then count me in, hell, I'll even buy a new PS3 for this.
