I first played my Dad's Atari 2600 / 5200. Though that was in the early 90s when I was only a few years old. My first consoles I owned (was also my Brothers) was the Sega Genesis. We also had the 32x and Sega CD for it. The thing was gigantic and hilarious looking.

haha you mean this thing?:

My friend had one of those. made me think of a mobilized vacum cleaner or something. it was huge.

Not quite. That looks pretty tame. I mean this.

wow haha. back then it seemed to be, the bigger the better. Now its, the smaller the better.

Sonic 1/2/3 on the Sega Mega Drive when I was 2 years old. I played those games so much, even have videos of me playing them.

i don't remember which make it was but one of those you plugged into the telly and played tennis on with lines and blocks,i'm sure there was a few of those machines quite quickly though,i seem to remember one with tanks

ZX-81 and space invaders they were early i'm pretty sure and bbc micros, acorns, spectrums and down the cafe which had a couple of arcade machines like Scramble, asteroids, defender, joust, phoenix that sort of thing

i used to love playing phoenix on one of those table top arcade machines when you sat on a stool having a cigarette thinking you were the bees knees, haha but that wasn't early, early

was asteroids actually first,i never seem to remember,i use to love the arcades though at 12-16 with all your friends if the owner let you in of course, which tehy usually did as they wanted your money

Well before the Nes. I'm not sure which was first. In the early 80's, there were a bunch of shitty LCD games that we used to play. Popeye, Astro Command, and Pac-Man are the ones I remember the most. Around the same time, I had some family members that owned Atari (maybe even Coleco--I can't remember) consoles connected to black and white TV's. Aside from Pac-Man, everything was horrible, though.

From there, I went into the Arcade scene. Donkey Kong, Kung Fu, Space Invaders, Galaga, Crystal Castles, Joust, etc. Eventually, I got an Nes. The rest is video game history.

d21lewis at a glance: Nes, Gameboy (x2), Super Nes, Nintendo 64 (x2), Playstation (x2), Gameboy Advance, Dreamcast, Playstation 2 (x3), Gamecube, Genesis (late start), Nintendo DS (x6), Xbox 360 (x3), Wii, PS3, PSP (x2), 3DS (x2)

I said Kung Fu but I meant Karate.  My bad!  (Kung Fu was a great game, too.  Used to be on those old Nintendo arcade machines that let you play ten different games for five minutes (or something like that).

I loved Shinobi, too.  I could only get to the first boss, though.  I'd use my Ninja Magic and that was it.  He'd throw that fireball and it was game over for me.  I never felt cheated, though.  I'm tempted to go to youtube and watch a playthrough of the game to see what I've been missing for decades.
