Forums - General Discussion - Would you rather have KH 3 optimized to the fullest for the PS3 or the Wii?

Build it on Wii to make sure the motion controls and graphics are good, then port it to the PS3 and possibly 360, seeing ports to those are better than if they do it to the Wii.

that won't work as the game will be unecptible on the PS3 and 360 because of the expectations of graphics, if at all it will be made for the PS3 and then ported to the 360 or vice versa, while the Wii version is made simultaneously but I doubt this as well.

Most likely what will end up happening is that the main KH game would end up on the PS3, with spin offs ending up on the wii, I say this because their are already 3 spin offs, 1 was on GBA, another soon to come to PSP and another also soon to come on DS.

if they got the motion controls to work well i would definitely take a wii version over a ps3 version

so wii for me

Switch Friend Code - 3664 - 9964 - 9777

Smash Ultimate Alias - Happy Lion

What I meant to say we wond an EPIC ending to the series, ALL OF THE DISNEY WORLDS EVER CREATED in one game, ALL VILLAINS, AMAZING GRAPHICS, amazing STORY, A huge 50 hour game, with amazing nex gen graphcis and amazing story line, to make the game HUGE AND EPIC.

PS3 is the way to go for KH3.

The Wii could also do pretty well, if they nailed the motion controls perfectly. I'd buy it over PS3.

if done on wii you automatically lose camera control and the last thing you need is a camera you can't control when you want to keep your sights on the enemy as you run around dodging attacks and attaking.

Also, if they do motion controls like Zelda, then no thanks just give me the standard controls, cause if your ganna replace button presses with waggle then just give me the buttons and I'll be good to go.

Plain old waggle =/= perfect motion controls, which is what I said.

Lack reading comprehension? >.>

I said what I said becacue their are wiifanboys that think plain old waggle as you describe it more is mor fun and interactive then pressing a button despite the fact that waggle is just a button replacement, Just making it clear for those that may have this thinking and obviously you don't apply.

@ Soriku

No, Square owns it. It's like with Halo and Bungie. Bungie developed the game, but M$ owns the IP, so anything Halo related will only be on an Xbox.

SE owns the KH IP, Disney did nothing but give consent to use their characters. SE did everything money and development related. So in the end, it's SE that decides where the game goes

You are misinformed.  Allow me to enlighten you. ^_^ Each piece of evidence that follows is in fact definitive proof that Disney owns everything in Kingdom Hearts not directly related to Final Fantasy.

Piece of evidence #1.  Taken directly from Kingdom Hearts 2's website:

© Disney Enterprises, Inc.

Developed by SQUARE ENIX.

© Disney. Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas © Touchstone Pictures. Developed by SQUARE ENIX. Characters from FINAL FANTASY video game series: © 1990, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005 Square Enix Co., Ltd. All Rights Reserved. SQUARE ENIX and the SQUARE ENIX logo are trademarks of Square Enix Co., Ltd.

Notice the primary trademark is Disney Enterprises, Inc.  After that, Square is credited with development, but given no trademarks for anything other than "Characters from FINAL FANTASY"" and their logos.

Piece of evidence #2.  Taken from here: http://www.gaming-age.com/cgi-bin/previews/preview.pl?sys=ps2&game=kingdomhearts

"Four new DISNEY main characters make their debut in KINGDOM HEARTS: Sora, Riku, Kairi and the Heartless."

That's right.  Every new character made in the game is property of Disney.

Piece of Evidence #3.  Taken from Gamerankings/Wikipedia.

Ever heard of a game named Kingdom Hearts Mobile? Well whether you have or not, it was a Kingdom Hearts game published by Disney and developed by Superscape with no involvement by Square Enix.  How did Disney get around this?  They simply didn't include FF characters.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_%28series%29#V_CAST

That's right.  Disney can make Kingdom Hearts without Square Enix at all if they so choose.

I second that.

@ naznatips - good info, i was never very clear on the issue.

i'd vote for wii cause that's what i own and i want to play the game

side note: anyone else feel like the execs at SE are debating this question themselves and that the KH spin offs on psp and ds are a way for them to test the waters of where the KH3 would do better? the "causual" "nongamers" that have the ds are the same that have the wii. i'd bet that where KH3 goes depends highly on how well the ds version sells. just my opinion i guess.

I think the audience for this game is predominately on Wii. Also if motion is added smartly (not waving it around to every swing but maybe certain special moves) then that certainly adds to the experience.

On the flip side it would be more cinematic on the PS3. However, the Wii is more than capable of providing beautiful animation for this sort of cartoony/stylish game anyway. This isn't a game that strives for life-like characters after all. Average Joe Blow wouldn't really appreciate the difference anyway.

I think FFXIII would be best on PS3, but I think KH3 is better suited to the Wii and sales would be better on the Wii. Look at Lego Star Wars, sells much better on Wii.

Wii, but only if the put a real effort in the motion controls...
