This is GREAT news? Seriously? The money from android isn't going to last forever. When Google's MMI acquisition goes through, it will be able to go toe to toe in the patent trials, in a way that it hasn't been able to do so far.

Good for MS. I dun liek android anyway. They put that android OS on cheap phones that can barely run it at 25 FPS.

Doesn't seem like the 5$ is getting passed along to the customer, at least not yet, so I don't really care. Phone manufacturers are still getting a ridiculous amount of profit per each phone sold.

they make a royalty form every windows phone... about $15 I think.

they dont realy have their own phones, nearest they have is Nokia, no idea how much they make from those.

oh, right, I forgot about the quantity. So android sells roughly 3-1 at least, meaning at near 50% of the market, windows phone is somewhere between 10-16% or so? Seems like a lot, but it is a quality phone.
