Well, I think that "at the moment" pretty much confirms that the NeXbox will be announced at E3. Sony seemed more definitive with their no. I'm wondering if they plan to shake things up a bit (new consoles are usually announced at E3s) and hold their own event to reveal the PS4 later this year or the beginning of next year like they did with the Vita. Or they may wait til Gamescom or TGS.

Here's the thing about the rumours the next xbox is going to be shown at e3 this year. From a business stand point it doesn't make a huge amount of sense. If they show it this year then really they want to have it out by Christmas. The 360 was shown in May and launched in November. So if it's shown at this E3 really it has to be released this year.

However think of all the MAJOR games. What about Halo 4? Launching a halo game against their own console would be insane, it would have to be shifted to Xbox next or dual released. Likewise GTA5 is this year. Assassins creed 3, Hitman, Tomb Raider, Devil may cry, Prey 2, Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Metal gear rising are all releasing later this year. Unless a HUGE amount of those games also have a xbox next version there is no way they would release a console to compete with that many big titles. It seems next year is the far more logical choice. Have one last big year now then next year have the games launching on xbox next in November time etc.

This time last year we knew a lot more games for 2012 than we know for 2013 this year. So holiday 2013 is my guess.

Sounds like Nintendo is getting a Wii U sale from me then. You'd be surprised how many morons purchase every game console on launch when there is no other competition, morons such as myself.

This is what I'm thinking as well.  I don't understand the business strategy in announcing at this years E3 and then waiting 18 months for its' release in November 2013.  Surely Nintendo killed off some potential Wii owners by doing this(?). 

Every year sees major games, this is not enough to say that tehere won't be a new xbox.
How long have been major games developed for PS2, too?
If they show the new box at E3, they will release it this year.
And this year would be useful to compete Nintendo and to force Sony to release the PS4.

LOL @ everyone who really believed that M$ or Sony would be making new console announcements at this year's E3, and a big ROFLMAO to anyone who honestly thought we'd be getting the NextBox sometime this year.

Really Stadelhuber go produce a list of MAJOR games for the xbox at the same time as the 360 launched, or the PS2 the same time the PS3 launched that is as long or has as many major franchises as this year.

In fact allow me to help. For the xbox the major games released on it around the 360's launch that weren't also on the 360 are: Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones and errr two late ports of Half-life 2 and Battlefield 2.

Call of Duty 3 and 5 were published on PS2, too. Even the sport games from EA and others still get a PS2-release.
Unbelieveable. I wouldn't compare the old xbox and its ending with the PS2 and the introduction of the PS3. MS stopped to support old xbox, Sony didn't stop the support for the PS2.
There will be no new xbox this year, but AAA-Games could be developed for all systems.

So your example of major games are two that were also published on ps3? Gee good going there. Notice how in my post I said there is no way the Xbox next will launch this year unless a load of those games are dual released. MS would not release the xbox against all those titles unless they were also available on it's platform. TBH I don't see it happening. So either admit you were wrong or keep trying to find examples of major games released around the time of a consoles launch that weren't also on the launching console. There won't be a list as big as the one for this year.
