I just finished reading Cage of Eden manga. (I read more than 90 chapters today!)
What a brilliant manga! The suspense and excitement kept increasing with every chapter I read.
Why a manga that good does not have an anime adaptation yet?! Since it ended this January, I hope we'll see a ~50 episode anime of this masterpiece.
I have a mixed feeling about the ending. I'm not sure if I liked it or not! But it is certainly rushed, especially the last five chapters. Although the final 3-5 pages doesn't suggest that, it looks like the mangaka finished it with a second season in mind. Maybe as a pack up if his next project didn't succeed. It didn't answer a lot of questions and it ignored some of the characters (especially Hades!). It even introduced a new character and new ideas/questions.

The mangaka already started a new manga this September and from the early ratings it looks good. After reading this, I'll keep an eye on this one.

Yeah, I liked the manga a lot.. began to read it since was arround chapter 45.. and definitevely the ending was rushed, but still have for more.. would be a shame if is not animated or continued..

Another good manga is  bloody Monday, it was separated on tree seasons.. I'm waiting to read the second and third in one go...

I watched Usagi Drop anime. Lovely anime. Because I loved the anime, I watched the manga. Didn't love it as much. Maybe because of the 10 years time skip. Also, I was disgusted by the ending! How can you marry a girl you raised for more than two years as a daughter?! Even if you're not blood related!

 

 

Anime - 7/10

 

 

Manga - 5/10 (deducted one more point for the ending)

 

 

 

I loved the anime and after that i read the manga and understood why it will not have a second season... like You I felt the ending like a hit in the balls.. but the ankward ending actually works, the feelling yourself grown from reading is the same that Taiichi must have felt.. if that was the intention of the mangak, did it great, if not.. is just DAMN! -,-

So I started watch Mirai Nikki as my first anime of the new year!!! And not a bad choice im really liking it.

 

Edit: 1 and a half days later :P anyways all i got to say is this

I might start this anime sometime later, was originally gonna watch this as my first one in 2014 but I am getting Monogatari Season 2 atm and will watch that first :P!

It finished right on time (December 29th)! Hate waiting for ongoing series lol.

Its not a bad show although it did get a lot sillier half way though the show when they added shounen elements and fights to this psychological thriller. -_-

 

I got to wath the Monogatari series some time this year. And yeah i feel like marathoning an anime is better than wait weekly.......... Kill la kill is not yet complete hum damn.

Winter 2014 impressions

Witch Craft Works : okay. Not particularly great characters or animation.  Ending animation is cute

Saikin Imouto etc.: Trash. Little ssister that has to fall in love with big bro. Lots of lewdness

Seitokai Yakuindomo S2: Great. Fantastic like the ovas and the first season. Animated great and lewd jokes. 

Pupipo: Great. Short but sweet. Adorable characters and sweet story

 

 

Edit: Oh yeah, new season of Mushi-shi  for Spring

Finished reading Kaichou wa Maid-sama! Absolutely loved it. One of the best romantic manga I've ever read. Misaki is too cute! I watched the anime couple of years ago but for whatever reason, I didn't like it as much. Absolutely recommend it.
Is it just me, or are there a lot of mangas that ended last year (2013)?

Nobunaga the Fool-Maybe Watch-Very typical mecha in terms of characters, only really going for it is the historical characters
Nobunagun-Should Watch-Definitely the better Nobunaga adaptation this season
Super Sonico-Should not watch- Very Generic and boring but has big boobs
Tonari no Seki-Must Watch-short and sweet and funny. Fantastic OP and ED
D-Frag-Maybe Watch- Weird and funny. The weirdness may be off-putting
Space Dandy- Should Watch- Funny and over the top, not serious whatsoever and well animated,

They also made up a whole illness, lol. The story and characters are pretty good thus far too, and the villain is great. Also I just recently found out that the character designs are by Akira Amano, Hitman Reborn's creator. Ko looks like adult Hibari, just with a different personality. Great opening song as well.

I've always been meaning to watch this show last year this attack on titan and madoka magica.
