The HD Collection would have been perfect except it does not have Metal Gear Solid.....
So its not a real collection at all, this port to the Nintendo 3DS is pretty good.
Nintendo has not gotten its own Metal Gear Solid game for a long time, I hope for the Nintendo Wii U
Konami brings Metal Gear back to Nintendo in a real way...
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3DS is still worth the try at least.

WHATCHA SAY!?!?!

Damn Konami dropped the ball, what kind of HD Collection is that if it doesnt have the original MGS!!?!

Our HD Collection gets Peacewalker. Japans one gets MGS1 instead with Peacewalker PS3 as an individual release I believe. I much prefer our western HD Collection which should be for obvious reasons.

It's an odd choice, randomly picking out a Metal Gear Solid game like that, especially one that was exclusive to the PS2. I think the Twin Snakes would have been a better choice, but MGS3 is still a damn fine game, and I'm considering getting a 3DS because of it.

It would be cool if they start with MGS3 (the first game in the storyline history) and then slowly move towards MGS Twin Snakes.  I'd buy em all all over again.....AGAIN!  The only Metal Gear I only own one copy/version of are Portable Ops and MGS4!

Oh yeah, good point.

By the way, I've warmed to the 3DS now, I might even get one before the PS Vita.

They sure messed up the Metal Gear Collection without including MGS, that is the most beloved game of the nexgen franchise...

Most likely the will have an anniversary sale of the game instead in the future and then I will buy the collection in HD.

whats with all the uneducated MG "fans". First off, MG did not originate on a Ninty console. It came to MSX first. and the Ninty version was a horribly gimped one.
OT. meh. Already bought the game twice and really it is smarter if one would just get the HD collection. Unless they really want to play MGS3 on the road that badly. IMHO that added feature doesnt really justify the price. Its not like the game doesnt have dozens of camos anyway. ANd people crying about MSS1 not being on the HD collection one. If it were included it wouldnt be in HD would it? ANd 2 it is on PSN has been for a while. If you really cared you would have been got it. (360 owners are SOL though)

Of course its a good idea, I mean they've released MGS before on a Nintendo system (GCN) and hell, the Metal Gear series originated on a Nintendo system :P

Metal Gear Solid 3 also has the best name, I mean come on, Metal Gear Solid 3DS, it matches!

Its also one of the best games ever created and to be remade on a system which it hasnt been released on and the fact that their selling it several years after the previous version (excluding the HD collection), it will sell well, might not sell as big as other games in the series but it will do fine.

but MG orgins are on MSX not Nintendo though.

but MG/MGS has never been eclusive toone system exept for MGS3 before now and MGS4

It's not available on the 360 though, so they couldn't include it. I've already got it on the PS3 and PSP anyway, not in HD, but it doesn't bother me too much.
