Well it doesnt mean they cant launch a new one and keep selling Ps3s.

Why do I feel this will become a rehash of a debate that been done a million times here before, all based on the misconception that Sony's 10 year plan somehow precludes a new console getting released before the PS3 has been out for 10 years. All it means is that Sony expects to keep making and selling PS3 systems for 10 years, just like they are still selling and making PS2 systems.
i think i read not to long ago that the X-box will also stay on the market for 10 yrs
as argh_college said this doesnt mean that there new consoles wont overlap, i believe that both MS and Sony will release there new stuff no earlier than late 2013
being on the market for another 4-5 yrs will mean possibly 100M sold for each console

Play Me
I get the idea Sony want to rely on the PS3 for the entirety of next gen, and then have the PS4 set to go for the following generation. Though that would go against their claims that they don't want to be left behind the competition. Which to be honest if they don't show off the PS4 at E3, they will be behind and chances are they will stay yet again in 3rd place in regards to sales.

I don't know. Redesing, (much?) lower price point, new markets.

The thing that is striking to me is "exclusive shows". Is that like exclusive games but for TV's?
I wander if Samsung will get the third party support.

Sounds reasonable, a much lower price PS3 will continue to sell. I reckon we still have another 2 years until next-gen, all the PS3 needs to do is to continue to sell for 3 years into next-gen.

Theres already a thread on the same topic - we gotta stop posting this.
Everybody knows that SONY is talking out of there asses in pretending they wont annouce a successor console till PS3 reaches 10 years. PS3 will be on Market with PS4.
plz no more posting this topic.
