The PS3 seems to have sold almost 70k in America this week :P Not too good but could have been worse anyway!

Both PS3 and 360 numbers will probably stay low until some get tax returns. I agree though PS3 is still a little high for a console. 40GB needs to be $100 less.

All three are impressively high compared to last year, admitedly there are good reasons,
like PS3 was not out in Europe, Wii had far less supply (though it seems a similarly small
 amount of surplus supply in America) and 360 seems to be extra popular in USA this year.

Wii has increased massively in America and Europe, whilst Japan may be similar, or slightly higher.
PS3 is doing roughly the same in America, and might come out similar in Japan too, but clearly
Europe is where PS3 is at it's best.
360 is generally better selling in America and Europe, whilst Japan might have had a drop, but
360 worldwide is not much affected by Japan anyway.
PSP also generally much better selling in all regions.
DS, like Wii, has exploded in America and Europe, whilst again like Wii, remained similar in Japan
(possibly will turn out a bit higher, but not over 100% higher like America and others)

Why should MS be crying? They should be laughing. For Sony to make it competitive in NA, they had to do these things:

1. Release 4 different Skus and ax two of them

2. Lower prices on their consoles and take an even further loss

3. Bring out a lower priced, feature missing model to generate more sales

What did MS have to do? A measly price cut. And believe you me, if I were looking to get a 360 now, I would laugh at it. And yet, the 360 was still hanging tough. It's been out 2 years, with one price cut and still selling. Just imagine with a bigger price cut how many units it will move.

I would laugh too if I forced my opponent to take an even bigger lose to chip away slowly at my lead.

 Actually Microsoft also bundled in 2 games ($100+ value) and released the new Arcade SKU for $280...

that would require the PS3 to outsell the 360 by 59K... or some major adjustments by ioi.

 don't forget other exclusives like Ratchet and Clank Future, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, etc. While Uncharted tops them all (except R&, which in my opinion is just as good), there are many other great exclusives out for the PS3.

Hey at least Wii and DS are still going strong, so status quo is maintained
