I rather liked the balance in the OP, how one quote severely overestimated how much appeal the 3DS had at the time and the other severely underestimated the 3DS's longterm prospects, with one being from Pachter and the other being from Malstrom.

Let's treat this as what it is: a way to chronicle the way that Nintendo has surpassed or failed to meet different expectations over time. Turning it into yet another pissing match is one of the most tiresome things I can think of, off-hand.
