As people have mentioned, it is very hard to compare them. I personally prefer GC, none of my PS3 games IMO can surpass the likes of Wind Waker, Tales of Symphonia, Metroid Prime and Paper Mario TTYD, but that is my opinion.

Easily PS3. Gamecube was Nintendos darkest age. I am not a fan of the Wii at all, but game wise it is way better than the GCN, and has been much more of a joy to own.

PS3 on the other hand has been Sony's best showing from a games only point. It has got all of the amazing franchises PS is known for, and Sony has built the most skilled, and innovative game studio on the planet. Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Killzone, God of War and Uncharted are all timeless.

Most importantly, I go back and play Xbox, PS1, PS2, NES, SNES, N64, and some handheld games. I have not hooked up the GCN since RE4.

Gamecube: 21.75 Million => 4.55 Million = 20.91% of the Gamecubes have The Wind Waker.

PS3: 55.79 Million => 5.42 Million = 9.71 % of the PS3s have Uncharted 2.

The PS3, it caters more to my tastes and I think it's probably the best console ever made. I enjoyed playing RE4 on the GameCube quite a bit, but apart from that, there was hardly anything else of interest.

But you have to remember, narrow down the third party support between the two, its a huge gap.

Ermm DUH? I never said the Gamecube was better from a techical perspective.

And I honestly say I'd rather have my Gamecube Nintendo exclusives than PS3's entire third party library.

So wait...when we compare the wii and the 360 to the ps3, it's all to do with sales but when we compare the ps3 to the gamecube it's all about teH gameZ and personal taste?

The question here is "Which is better?" how come the ps3 is losing this one?



PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Yes, of course, no one ever bashes the Wii on this site, everyone loves and praises Wii.

Please, even most Nintendo fans here agree Wii has been awful this year and acknowledge PS3 defeated it brutally in 2011.

And yes, many people here liked the Gamecube, and our opinion won't chage because many people dind't.

A franchise thats been around for 5 years or less cant really compete against a grand franchise thats been around 20+ years ;p.



Also at the OP, instead of saying that the GCN is a better overall console, you should of pitched in actual facts between the two systems to the customer:

 

PS3
-More Software Available at the time
-Better third party support
-Multimedia base
-Free Online

GCN
-Cheaper to afford
-Games cost less (the ones that can be found, some online as well)
-More Compatiable (?)

Agree, it would be unfair to compare Call of Duty to Metroid too.

The OP is stating his opinion, and telling a story, and also, as I said, SW is subjective.
