Having hardware more powerful than your previous hardware isn't innovation.

Xbox Live is the only one of the  three that you listed I would classify as innovation for gaming on the level of Wii's controller.

This

We weren't talking about "levels of innovation" though. Wii's controller is arguably more innovative than Blu-Ray, sure, but both are still innovative. I'm going to leave it at that because I know that no matter what I say, you two will never agree about this. I'm out!

Please stop acting like nintendo inovates

Yes they have been in gaming longer than ms and sony but they werent the first.

yes they did have the most sucess with motion controls but they wasnt first

Sony is one of the most inovitive company ever get over it

Except no one was arguing that Sony doesn't innovate at all, just that existing technology getting better over time shouldn't be counted as innovation >_>

Besides that, most of the things in the list you keep posting aren't all that innovative, AND the vast majority have nothing to do with gaming

None of the above. Instead, a fourth party will enter the race and fall off the wagon quickly.

Hey apple!

Yeah, I don't know why people have this absurd idea that Apple could just get into the console industry and dominate.

They would be at a massive disadvantage to the other three.

I think out of all the companies who could enter the gaming business, Apple seem like they sorta have a chance. It's kinda like this thread, I doubt anyone will actually exit the console business any time soon, but if I had to pick one, Sony would be the most likely IMO

Im just fed up with people sayin sony copy and the nintendo are awesome. Sony have history of inovating and will continue to do so. you can still use existing tech and inovate. Move is an inpvation of wii and wii is an inovation of ps eye and im sure pseye inovated from something else.

I would say Sony but gaming really is the only profitable part of their electronics divisions so unless the entire company went down I dont see them dropping gaming.

Technically, Sony doesn't develop, but rather copy and steal.

Therefore I pick Microsoft.

You do realise a large part of developing is taking what other people do that works, and using it in your products right? Works especially well if they do it better.

Infact, that's also how innovation may happen in this industry, you see what someone else has done, then you take that idea and try to improve it.

If nobody "copied" or "stole"(lol) from anyone all our tech would be the first try at it.

It was a joke, but unfortunately not everyone gets it. This is understandable though, because I am a very serious poster. Therefore I get reported.

Another unfortunate thing is that my moderation history has become some kind of hall of fame for moderators. It's very telling when the explanation for this moderation reads "Sony trolling (I just want to be part of your moderation history)".

Why wow. Do you know what innovate means. Heres a definition.

in·no·vate

[in-uh-veyt] Show IPA verb, -vat·ed, -vat·ing.
verb (used without object)
1.
to introduce something new; make changes in anything established.

xD Oh alright, yeah, this is the first joke I've ever seen you make. Successful troll is successful.
