Yeah, meaning monster hunter 4g vita.

No one said MHP4 wouldn't be on the Vita, infact that almost a given, however it will be some odd time after the 3DS version.

Also you shouldn't be hyped for it, since the version will be slight upgrade from the 3DS version (Since usually the assets of portable series is based on the main numbered series) and will most likely will be how did you put it "definitely is not a step forward for the franchise".

Ok maybe I'm just stupid since everyone seems to agree we'll see the game on Vita. But it doesn't make sense to me. Why would Capcom release a 3DS Monster Hunter and announce Monster Hunter 4 "for 3DS" and thus force the audience to switch to Nintendo platforms just to go back to the Vita later on? Their audience is on the PSP and would be on the Vita if it wasn't for that Monster Hunter 4 announcement. It's like Square announcing the next mainline Final Fantasy for Xbox 360 and then, after pulling the audience over re-releasing it for the PS3.

Oh, because the portable series as has a rich history with playstation portable. However It will be in some time, not right next to the 3DS version of Monster Hunter 4.

Also it is possible Monster Hunter Portable 4th might be on the 3DS as well or maybe Monster Hunter 4 G.

Second part: You know going multiplatform I would totally understand. They would still have their audience and expand their market at the same time. But what they currently do (assuming we will see the game on Vita at some point) is the equivalent to Square announcing Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox first and announce the PS3 version after they marketed the hell out of an Xbox 360 exclusive Final Fantasy remake. Or Square announcing Final Fantasy VII for Playstation and then announcing a Nintendo 64 version after everyone migrated to the Playstation.

Of course releasing the Vita version a year later would be more plausible but who would buy a Vita for the game at that point? And if they plan to release another version of 3 for the Vita in late 2012 (which is the timeframe mentioned in the rumours) and then a remake of 4 for the Vita their audience would be even more confused than I currently am

Doubt it will be MHP3HD. It is too late. It will be something new, maybe a Freedom or Portable. The big crowd for those games are at PSP and I see them moving to Vita.

@Boutros: MHTri was exclusive for Wii and Capcom never mentioned it. Stop with the same argument.

Er..yes they said Monster Hunter Tri was absolutely exclusive to the Wii...

Not in the PR. Has anyone asked Capcom about the exclusivity of MH4 like they did for MHTri? Is there a link to an interview where Capcom is asked about MH4 and they answer "is exclusive to 3DS" or "no comments"?

What do you mean not in the PR? Did you read the article? Capcom and Nintendo struck a deal to make MHTri exclusive to the Wii. Even Iwata said it was Nintendo's strategy to ''expande the game-player population''.

Such thing did not happen for MH4 which leads to believe it is not the same situation as MHTri and we very well might see the game on another platform. If the game really is exclusive to the 3DS, I think we would have heard about it by now don't you think?

Money, dev help, better rights.

You know, Nintendo gave Capcom the go ahead to produce and sell the add-on analog for 3ds. That is typical not something Nintendo allows, at least not without a competing product of their own.

This isn't even a rumour. Its just speculation:  http://www.siliconera.com/2012/01/04/rumour-monster-hunter-for-vita-in-2012-3ds-lite-coming/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+siliconera%2FMkOc+%28Siliconera%29

"Update: Just to make things a little clearer, both of these rumours are mere speculation, nothing more. The source for the Monster Hunter rumour is “industry officials” who speculate that there will be a Vita game released in the future. We’ve updated our wording to make this clearer."

The 3ds lite one is just speculation also.

This is like speculating that there will be another Mario game eventually.

Capcom would never leave a fanbase of 7 MILLION to go to 3ds exclusively. And without any word from Sony; Like they'd lose one of the best selling games on their portable without a fight.

This is what i'm talking about.
i knew capcom could be bought

capcom is the new square enix - playing both saide to get paid
