Does it really matter at this point?

Not really, especially if another one of my predictions is true ... and that is that the majority of game sales will be for games that could (probably) run on this generation's HD consoles.

While big budget blockbusters will (probably) try to push the limits of next generation hardware, games like Wii Fit, Just Dance, Guitar Hero/Rockband and the bulk of mid to low budget games will see very little benefit from pushing the graphical limits of consoles; and the way you will see a difference between these games and their current generation counterparts is that they will be displayed at a higher resolution, with a better framerate, with higher-resolution textures, and significantly better AA and AF.

Wii U seems like its just catching up/slightly surpassing PS3/360 so I highly doubt it'll be the most powerful.

My guess will be the Next Xbox, but with PS4 basically being the same power (but slightly less)

Sony did go on record saying they wouldnt make the same financial investment as they did with PS3.

That suggests a less powerful graphics leap to PS4.

But on the other hand.....Vita showed us that Sony isnt changing anytime soon.

no it doesnt.

it suggests that they wont be reinventing blu-ray technology and cell technology. since they already exist.
the invested billions into those 2 things, and they were the 2 most costly components to the ps3 production.

since those 2 things already exist now, there will be no need for billions in R&D, and production costs.
they will likey stick with the existing cell technology and improve upon it (cell 2.0) and they already have blu-ray so no need for new disk format, so they will just make it faster. its currently 2x speed, it will likely be at least 12x speed. and the is a good chance that they will make a bigger disk capacity (100 gb)

with bluray tech and cell 2.0 in their next system costs will be significantly less, while still being a lot more powerful. they will just have to put in a lot more ram and much better graphics card.

so i personaly think they will again have the most powerful system, while having significantly less cost.

as much as id like to say i want the ps4 to be the most powerful console next gen, the past 3 gens have shown being the most powerful doesnt mean the most popular

PS1-weaker than N64
PS2-weaker than dreamcast and xbox
Wii-weaker than 360 and ps3

Pretty obvious he meant Gamecube.

The one with the best games.

We could actually have a chance of MS releasing their console last O.o

Because they want to continue xbox 360's and kinect's success.

Yay!!!

Hardly anyone has considered this a possibility, it is there, although small.

I'm a little surprised that the WiiU doesn't use state of the art DirectX 11, but instead uses the older 10.1. I hope this doesn't mean Microsoft is saving DirectX 11 for the Next Box.  While great, I don't want to  be limited to DX 11 or DX 11.1 as we will be locked into already several year old tech for another bunch of years. (Please innovate with DirectX 12 or more!)

Can I ask where you got that information from? K'thnx.

Also, DX11 has been out for a while now but devs  just recently started  using it in PC games. Most games are still using DX 9 and 10. Devs don't make a mass jump on to a new API as soon as it is released, the transition  takes a couple of years.

Even Epic gave us Samaritan as what they expect from next gen consoles and that's a DX11 demo.

The DirectX 10.1 in the WiiU?  I believe it was part of what Nintendo was specifying at E3.  Would be most happy if it's 11 and equivalent open GL.

Yes, the Samaritan demo looks great. But graphic artist still have more that they want beyond DirectX 11.  Since I assume we will be stuck with whatever Nextbox DirectX is for several years.  I would hope that it has room to expand to something even better.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!
