Pachter said bad things about Nintendo for years, and all that has gotten him is a tarnished name! Anyone can be right some of the times. |
Yea, that's what makes pachter's track record for failing so amazing.

This. I think this is the reason Vita will do very well in Americas/Europe, and also the reason it's not doing well in Japan. The biggest game for the Vita was Uncharted, and look at how good the ps3 Uncharted series has done in Japan.
I don't know about the US but I'am almost certain it'll flop in the EU as well, I don't think they'll be willing to fork out the equivalent of $400-450 for a handheld.

I expect it to do best in the EU tbh. For all their price gauging the reality is the EU typically pay the higher costs, and the EU seems to be where the PlayStation brand is still at it's strongest. PSP sold fine in it's first year at a higher pricepoint then Vita (Accounting for inflation)... I think it depends how the retailers get on board and stuff. It looks expensive now but within a month the price (At least in the UK) will be sub £200 bundled with a memory card, or game, or both.
I still think Pach could be on to be right here if you align territory launches (Which is obviously what he meant, otherwise it'd be a stupid bet). We know it's suffering in Japan cause of a higher price and lack of Japanese games, well there's plenty of games to suit the westerner taste so I guess the question is whats the bigger problem in Japan, price or games, as if it's games it should do fine over here.
If Pachter says it it must be true...
LMAO couldn't say that without a straight face!
