Forums - Gaming - Kinect Vs. Move: One Year Later

hmmm lets see the fact that I didn't use a remote in over a month to watch movies listen to music etc.....

that most of those game you named are move compatible and not needed compared to games on kinect that exclusive to it.... I could name Forza, halo, ME coming soon.... and please when I see how many people play famous FPS no a day... that stuff is almost becoming casual to some extend.... so please before bashing something you don't have

I'd be spending 150 bucks any day to have a hand free remote control on my TV.... so why note on my console.... having it integrated inot games is just a plus for me... especially when it comes to social meetings at my place.... it's way more friendly with kinect whether we watch TV listen to music while chit chatting or actually play social games for fun and not doing competitive LAN parties.... If I still wanted to do that I wouldn't be buying a PS or and XBox but a good old PC.... so please give me a break with your lame excuse.... move is about as dead as eyetoy was with the PS2 and has absolutely no future this gen compare to kinect.....

add to that PC compatibility in the future and windows 8 and MOVE just gets stomped a little more.....

how has Move failed? how is 8.8 million sales as of June 2011 a fail? thats 9 months after release. you are delerious.

No, thats not fanboy talk. its fact theres videos of it. they clearly show the eyetoy being used to track a wand with a colorful ball on top. its dated way before wii, and its right there on youtube for you. wether or not you choose to ignore these facts is up to you. but saying its fanboy talk is a straight up lie.

bad software support? really? Killzone, Heavy Rain, inFAMOUS, Resisdent evil, LBP2, MLB THE SHOW, Resistance 3, inFAMOUS: festival of blood, echochrome, sports champions, eyepet, deadmunds quest, Tiger Woods, tumble, etc.

bad software support! yeah not so much. try great software support. with many games that are actually better because of it.

1)8.8 million moves sold means a userbase of maybe 6 million, which is not breathtaking in 10 months.

2)In your second paragraph you just underline that you did not understand what I was saying. Sure there are youtube vids, but sony did not bring it to the market. Nintendo did, they won, sony played catch up and failed to do so.

Yeah, it is a bad software support, because nobody cares about the move support at all. Well except a very tiny minority like you. These games did nothing to sell move hardware and move hardware did nothing to sell the software.

3)Remember all this Move vs Kinect articles / threads / discussions last year? I think there is no way to spin the fact that Kinect was a greater success in every segment. Not just the hardware sales (the number you mentioned is only slightly above the number Kinect did in 60 days) There is no move only title that comes even close to 1 million unit sales, while Kinect has 7 already (Kinect Sports, Kinectimals, Joy Ride, Dance Central, Kinect Sport Season 2, Dance Central 2, your shape) Star Wars and Ryse look like they could reach that milestone as well.

1) soo because it hasnt sold 50 bajillion units in under 9 months, it means it failed? im sorry but selling 8.8 million of something in 3/4 a year is amazing, especially for a perphiral.

2) you said "This Move had been in development before the Wii was announced is fanboy talk. " "And in these 4 years all Sony came up with is more or less the same experience as the Wiimote with bad software support."

well its not fanboy talk its true. and if you are going to go around claiming the Move is a wiimote clone, the same could be said (more easily) about the kinect and eyetoy. and after all nearly 10 years all Microsoft was able to come up with  is more or less the same experience as the eyetoy with awful software support. much worse than move.

3) i didnt know we were debating on which device was more successful. its pretty obvious its the kinect, i thought i along with every one else (aparently besides you) were just arguing that Move it quite the sucess, after you said it was a failure. so if your measurement of failure is anything that sells less than kinect, i guess nearly everything fails.

and there are a few Moe only titles close to 1 million. Sports Champions (only bundled in america), and eyepet. but you are leaving off the biggest draw and success of the move, and that the core titles. Killzone, Resistance, Heavy Rain, Resisdent evil, SOCOM, LBP2, inFAMOUS 2, NBA 2k, MAG, etc.

8.8 million (actual userbase of 6-7 million) is not enough to get 3rd party developer excited. Sony pushed move big time using  "This changes everything" but in fact it didn't. There is no big 3rd party support and we are still waiting for the first Move only game that shows us something the Wii can't. That is why I call it a failure.

Why the hell are these core titles a success of the move. Heck most of them sold less than their predecessor, which did not have move support at all. So Move did nothing to sell these titles and thes titles did nothing to sell the Move.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

tl;dr

You already lost this thread a couple of text-walls ago, when you demonstrated total ignorance/marketing brainwashedness. Move has games like Killzone 3 and House of the Dead. Kinect doesn't. The end.

PS.
No reason to continue writing stuff that no-one is going to read (at least not me nor anyone else who matters). You lost, game over. This thread is not like a modern video game that gives you infinite continues.

then how do consoles ever get third party support at launch and in their first year of existance?

"There is no big 3rd party support"

what big third party support has there been for kinect?

"and we are still waiting for the first Move only game that shows us something the Wii can't"

if we are reffering to gameplay the the same applies to kinect in terms of web cameras and the eyetoy

Yes, that's right, your favorite console was outsold in 2011 and didn't have the most and highest rated exclusives.

On topic:
House of the Dead 3 and 4 have just been announced for PS Move. Exclusively.

Did you somehow fail to read/understand this thread? For gamers, PS Move won hands down and is continuing to win.

PS Move got
A) the jump-around-like-a-monkey stuff
and
B) actual games

It's a win-win situation. Except for those people that are suffering form a tragic mental condition that makes them worship one specific company while preventing them from owning more than one game system (no offense to kids whose parents decide what they get). I for one happen to have all three systems. It's awesome, you should give it a try.

Actually according to Metacritic the 360 had more good games overall (75+). They just weren't exclusive, but since you make this a PS3 vs. 360 contest it doesn't matter.

Xbox 360: 112
PS3: 96

It was insinuated I meant exclusives.
I'll edit the post for more clarity.

thats your opinion... believe it or not there are people who value games such as dance central or kinect sports or whatever ( i don't for me if i want to dance or play football or swim i just do it but thats me )
