Forums - Gaming - Kinect vs PS Move vs Wii Motion Plus

Being only a Kinect owner it's hard for me to judge all three. I've only played Move slightly and zero motion+ games. Just judging Kinect I really enjoy it. It might not be perfect, but it works very well. It does lag behind when it comes to "core" games, but it still has great games nonetheless. Whats makes Kinect unique from Move and Motionplus (can't use voice controls) is not only using it for games, but stuff like navigating the dashboard using voice commands or motions and being able to say, "pause", "play", etc while watching a movie is pretty damn awesome.

Played 'em all. I own WM+ and Kinect.

Functionality:
1. (Tie)Move and Wii Motion Plus
3. Kinect

Kinect has some really cool features but it spazzes out sometimes. WiiM+ and Move are super precise.

Games:
1. Kinect
2. Wii Motion Plus.
3. Move

Move comes in last soley because of a lack of "Move only" titles. It lacks that one must own title to justify its existence. Wii has Zelda and Kinect has Dance Central. Kinect has a wealth of titles and most are Kinect only. Wii wins on the strength of Skyward Sword.

Overall:
1. Kinect
2. Wii Motion Plus
3. Move

While move works very well, it's no game changer. You can have a full PS3 experience without ever touching a Move. Wii Motion Plus has Zelda and a few other games that live up to the promise that Wii made back in 2006. As for Kinect--I had(and still have) a house full of visitors for Christmas. Two 20-something guys, Two 20-something girls, an 11 year old boy, my ten year old daughter, and my GF. For the last few nights, my living room looked like a Kinect commercial. I can honestly say that the last few days have been some of the most awesome social gaming I've ever had. Kinect is a winner.

I own move but I haven't really played it. I bought it so I can play killzone3, but I haven't started the game yet. I've played Kinect at friends houses and I it was fun for about an hour but then I got pretty bored, but that's because most of the games are dance/activity games and those aren't my preferred type of game.

Wii motion has the best library so they are the overall winner.

Kinect I'd say comes in 2nd now because of the novelty factor.

PS3 move last because well. It's like the motion and while more precise they don't have that many games that utilize it. Maybe once I play killzone 3 with it I'll change my mind, or if they release more games that bring a unique experience to the table.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Best Fantasy Motion Control configuration:
Kinect camera + Move Wand + Wii Nunchuck (if only this was possible)

er...

what does this even mean?  you dont mention any specific games... or even genres.

"by specific games"?

Pretty obvious I'd have thought - Kinect only, Move only etc. titles hence excluding the likes of Killzone, Forza, etc.  Hence hybrid games noted seperately.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

The device itself:

1. Move (super accurate)
2. Motion Plus
3. kinect

The games:

1. Move (Sports Champions, Killzone 3, and inFamous really show off how great a device it is, and to a lesser extent: Resistance, MAG, and SOCOM)
2. Motion Plus
3. Kinect

Overall:

1. Move (super accurate, precise, has the core games i like and are really good with it)
2. Motion Plus (really accurate, has some core games, not much suport)
3. Kinect (not very accurate, has no core games, but has fun arcadey games)

I would put Resistance 3 as one of the top PS Move games. It's on par with Killzone 3 if you ask me. I just got PS Move today (came with sharpshooter, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, and I bought Sports Champions and there all really great but there are some sensitivty issues for me. (Well Resistance 3 and Killzone 3) My sensitivity is zero percent and it's still a bit too high for me. Do you know any solutions so my move controllers can become "super accurate" similar to yours.

Hardware wise.
Move really accurate
Motion+ accurate too, but that camera that Move uses allows for AR which is why I have it above Motion+
Kinect, there is only so much you can do with just a camera, at least for now.

game wise. this is tough
Move, It has just about anything you want, weird crap?? Child of Eden, Beat sketchers, Dancing, JD3, ED, FPSs that DONT suck?? KZ3, R3, GE Reloaded.
Kinect, Dancing, compilations, and exercise seem to be the only games that truly work on Kinect. Im not a fat bastard so exercise does nothing for me. Compilations get boring in about a month and dancing is only fun with more than one person. So...
Motion+ yes, dead last, you can Zelda in my face all you want, that does not excuse the absolute abysmal support that this thing got. In 2+ years you release ONE game that was truly worth a damn?? Sorry not gonna cut it for me. At least the other two are trying.

1. Motion Plus
2. Kinect
3. Move

Why I put Motion Plus in the first place? Because Zelda SS, this game alone can explain why.
Move? That's great hardware, but since not a single game in PS3 that really "NEED" move, and not every PS3 owner must have this.
Kinect? Your body is the controller, but still can't beat the fun while I'm playing SS

heres an interesting article by gameinformer. it kind of goes along the lines you were doing, breaking it down by required vs optional. and lots of other things.

Move from a hardware point is number one overall without question. The camera is a win some/loose some situation, but combined with the controllers it is far and away the best. On the traditional games front neither of the competitors are close, and it has proved itself capable on dance and fitness front. Its only issue is a lack of content to this point.

Kinect and Wii Motion + are about =. Motion + gives great controls to the shooter market, and sports, but the dance and fitness genres are lacking without other additions. Kinect is king of dance and fitness but lacks on the traditional front.

I believe the next gen will be an advanced version of move.
