Forums - Sony - Sony's Tablet S adds DualShock 3 support in Japan

joystiq

Japanese users of Sony's curvy Tablet S have received an update (translated) that should come in handy for all those PlayStation games. The tablet now offers support for DualShock 3 controllers, though they must first be synced with a USB adapter cable -- sold separately.

The dual-screened Tablet P, unfortunately, remains shackled to the screen-smudging tyranny of virtual buttons.

that's nice for the 5 users of the Tablet S..... now there is a missed chance Sony.. making a tablet just as expensive as an iPad.. still a nice device but too expensive in the Android tablet market..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Is this a hooray? I don't understand.

Well it is not in the UK yet! I can already kind of use an Xbox controller with it after I got the adaptor, but this update will be quite cool for playing Crash Bandicoot and maybe GTA III, but in general, it won't be able to compete with the experience of a Vita

I think that Vita is very similar to a SmartPhone/Tablet.

They should include support for it in the next hi-end tablets...

Something like this isn't really news when it comes to Android tablets. Im sure there is 5 different hacks already which enable dualshock controller using bluetooth. My buddy has been using the dualshock on the galaxy tab for a while now.

Well those generally require rooting, it is nice that Sony has supported it properly especially as they market it as a PlayStation tablet
