Huge sales 3DS, X360, Wii record over 1 million sales for the week. PS3 sold 916k for the week, great number.
X360 sold 896k in Americas region in a week, next week it can crack 1 million sales in Americas region and sell 1.3 million sales with European figures.

......wow. Like if you got NA in your pocket the lacking sales elsewhere really don't seem to matter. People say that NA isnt the whole gaming world.....but it sure is the biggest and most relevant.

I mean seriously, I thought the PS3 was legitimately going to slaughter the 360 this year. It outsold 360 the whole year leading up to the holidays, pumped out exclusives, and went for the jugular with the price cut. I thought this was the year 360 would be 3rd place.

Yet somehow, MS manages to hold on to their market position by totally turning the 360 around for the holidays....with 2008 prices! How they did this with no price cut mazes me further.

2012 will now be VERY interesting to see how well PS3 and 360 sell. Bravo MS, bravo.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It's really weird France and UK have comparable consoles sales except when it comes to the Xbox 360. Not sure what creates this huge gap.

Signature goes here!

Surprised, normally Nintendo products have by far the biggest boost of holidays, but this logic is not respected this week according to vgchartz.

There was some crazy guy with a pope avatar that said last year that holidays 2010 would be the last one the Wii "won" on the home console market...

sony germany announced today that they sold "over 3 million" ps3 in germany and vgchartz says 3.2 million. i think this means tracking for germany seems to be right or maybe a little bit overtracked but not undertracked like some people might think.

That probably just means that the PS3 is undertracked elsewhere because as far as I know Vgchartz numbers and official shipment figures are pretty close.

Anyways all 3 consoles did about as expected this week.

yeah sure no clue about other markets i just meant germany with "not undertracked"

Some Facts that ppl seem to forget / ignore and say that ps3 is the least* selling console:

1. Least* during holiday season yes.
2. Most expensive of the 3 Home consoles during WHOLE lifecycle so far (including price cuts).
3. Almost a year minus of sales compared to the HD xbox360.
4. Best selling home console of the year so far and as it seems, best ps3 selling year of all times.

That looks pretty good for VGC.  Vendor numbers tend to be based on last official count whereas VGC is trying to be up to date within a week or so.  That means these numbers are probably recent but not right up to date like VGC and with over 3 million noted I'd say this implies VGC is bang on or only slightly over.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

i bought my ps3 because it has blu-ray and then, ps3 is less expensive than the 360 and i have to pay for xbox-live to play online did you forget that as well? 360 does cost a lot more than ps3 if you play online and yeah what i said, the ps3 is a blu-ray player as well.

i would be happy if both consoles would sell double the amount but you can't just say "ps3 costs more"
