I demand some sort of schedule or something... Everytime I go online the community is empty... :7

There is a schedule, it's just that nobody cares. If you have the choice between playing against two VGC members or seven random people, the latter is simply more entertaining. A better way to go about this would be one VGC member saying that he will play free for all MK7 races on a specific day each week and for at least a couple of hours at that. Then others join, if they feel like it (by now, friend codes should be exchanged). Sure, this leaves the problem that there's no space in the group for a couple of races, but that's still not as bad as these scheduled tournaments where hardly anyone shows up. |
I guess you are right, because at the end I always go back to play with random people ;)
Ok, I'll start I guess... I'll be online after 1pm central time for at least 5 hours (I have to study, but wth) so if anyone wants to join...

Central time... that's in twelve hours from now? I need something worthwile to do before the Super Bowl anyway. I don't think I've got your 3DS friend code yet, so please post it on my wall. You'll also find my 3DS friend code there, it should still be displayed as my current status. |
the plan was to wake up around the time chelsea-manU tomorrow and then some mario kart... added btw!

When this thing started there were like 5-6 six of us racing, but even the races with like 3 of us were more entertaining than the regular online match because of the community point system. It's four races and the cup ceremony at the end and a leaderboard. I think less people start showing up because the host (who was suppose to tracks scores, invite new members, and give reminders for the upcoming races) is no where to be found. So most people just forget about it.
Yesterday though, Galaki and I was in a room and there were like 6 VG members online on my friend-list alone but no one would join. Which is a shame because the friend card turns bright yellow with the VG tourney room written on it with the Join Game button.
One thing to note about the MK community system, If you came late and the races are in progress. you would have to wait until the 4 races are over join. You wont see the join game button on your friendlist till this happens. So just be there early (about 5 mins before 8pm GMT) or you'll have to wait a bit.

Yeah, it's kind of awkward playing with just another player when he's not of the opposite sex.
I can't even excuse my noobness as letting the girl win :(

These things never work for long, because VGC doesn't have that big of a gaming community, meaning if somebody forgets about it or doesn't want to show up, there's nobody to fill the void. There's also the domino effect. You see that certain other members don't show up anymore, so you lose interest too. Suddenly there's only two people left who are willing to play. Therefore it's better someone just announces that he will play online at a given time. If others join, good. If not, the guy in question doesn't need to wait in hopes that somebody might show up. |
What you are suggesting is what the host wanted to do in the beginning with himself. That would have been disastrous because he disappeared day 1. So the community system saved it from day 1 death.
This would work for long if we had a better host. Actually it was doing quite well for something with no host (until RE released). Seriously the dude hasn't been in a single race since day1 XD.

He got carried away with wanting to host it and asked me the schedule times, they can easily be changed. I think an MSN group could solve some of the issues.
