Now that is a quality thread that makes one wonder and think. A CGI-Quality thread :D

So exited for this game. It was interesting trailer to begin with but when i saw Naughty Dog. I jumped and did my little dance :)

Kind of like this?

Exactly. Dammit how did you know.

You know I just bought and finished Heavy Rain a week ago. And "WOW" is all I can say.I think it is definitely one of the best games of this gen. It is one of those few games where I couldn't put the controller down and finished it all in one sitting. Not even Uncharted 2/3 did that for me. It's also probably the best story for video game as well. The control scheme also works very well to make the game very tense since the character can actually die. The music was even phenomenal.

I have a lot of good things to say for this game. I should have bought this day 1. Also I firmly believe this should have won all of the gotys for the year it came out (2010?)

I knew because I was doing the same exact dance when I saw who was making it.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

You do know that the girl is not played by Ellen Page, right? If you do, then I'm confused as to what that part is referring to. Isn't the person next to Madison her actual voice actor?

I'm aware of all of that, but that's not that the purpose of that addition. Furthermore, the girl beside Madison is her mo-cap/face scan actress, not her voice actress. Still not the point of the topic though.

Edit: In fact, some have missed the point of this thread altogether.

Unless I missed your point, aren't you talking about cinematic experiences with high graphical fiedility?

Abstract thinking. I like it.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Actually, your point isn't that hard to get, what with the whole "Welcome to the uncanny valley" and all. All I care about is clarity though.

So Naughty Dog are able to make their character look like someone they are not mo-capping, while Quantic Dream aren't able to make their characters look like the people they are mo-capping?

Cinematic experiences and graphical fidelity are just a piece of the purpose behind the thread. But that's not the point of it.

Yeah but without those, they can't possibly touch your emotions or into a deeper level of thought since your forum name is "CGI-Quality" =P I mean, Miyamoto comes up with crazy ass game ideas in the same way, but I'm sure they don't have the type of impact you think Heavy Rain or what The Last of Us might bring you lol.

Nice thread CGI. One question though. Doesn't the girl from "The Last of Us" look more like Alexis Bledel (the girl from gilmore girls)?

But if it were all about graphics, God of War III & Crysis (PC) would be my favorite games of all time. There's a specifc labor of emotion brought to the table as a package with experiences like Heavy Rain, and that's where my passion lies. It won't be and never was "all about visuals", even if they play a role.

That's why I included "cinematic experiences." Then again, if you touch up a game like Mass Effect 2 on PC with Mods and make it like it's graphics on steroids, granted it's more action oriented, it feels completely different. It's not as lovey dovey of a feeling, but the graphics will enhance the overall feeling by miles, the art style and graphics do play a very big role in it.

You read it wrong, as "Welcome To The Uncanny Valley" isn't at all a point here. It's a personal story involving what I've studied and learned, but deals with games that back up said research. Should add some clarity, if that's really what you're after.

Your second sentence is needlessly off-topic though, so I would appreciate it dying there.

Then I guess I do not see the point of this thread. I will now stop responding to the OP and the things taken up in it, I'm outy. *salute*
