Forums - Microsoft - Xbox and Verizon Fios. If I didn't already have Fios, I would jump on this deal

I'm paying $119 for this triple service.  Locked in for another year.  Damn.

Internet, t.v., phone, xbox live for a year, and halo anniversary game for only $90

I like my FiOS and I like my 360 but the FiOS app on the 360 is completely pointless.

You don't have nearly as many channels on the 360, you can't record, it's a slower interface, no on demand (if anyone even uses that), and you get nothing extra for using the 360.

When I first booted it up and saw that they were showing me Cinemax and HBO, I thought I would finally get those channels and could actually watch Game of Thrones when it came on, turns out I still had to subscribe to see those channels.

I was hoping to see some record option so I could lessen the burden on my already cramped DVR and move that onto my 360 with plenty of space...nope.

I was hoping I could just use an easy voice controlled guide, what I found was a guide with about 20 channels (most of which I don't even watch) and that's about it.

I was incredibly excited when they first announced the FiOS app hoping I could stop using my Verizon DVR but sadly that app was a let down in every way possible.

Isnt it it integrated with Bing Search?  So if I search for something that is available on both Verizon FIOS and say Zune marketplace (which wouldnt be free to watch) I could choose to watch on Verison FIOS.

From what I understand Verizon will be adding more content as well.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Hmm, that is a good deal. I'm sticking with just my internet for now though. Brings me all the entertainment I need.

do you have to pay for "standart" tv in america as well or only for pay tv? here in germany we have pay tv and standart tv but the joke is we have to pay for that as well. ok it has much less advertisement because of that and we would have never a situation like you have in america on super bowl for example (hell this is a lot of advertisement you have there) but that means if we wish to have as many channels as you have with this deal we need both (with less hd channels).

it costs like 20€ for the normal tv and radio (for everyone in germany the same except jobless) + pay tv which would cost like 50-65€ for the whole sky program for most people if they don't get a nice deal like me, i pay 33.90€ for the whole sky pay tv program and this is very lucky.

then internet with this speed hmm like 40€ i think but i don't know exactly i can't have this speed where i live :(

so for tv, internet, phone and the game/xbox live we have to pay like 130€ here which means $170 and the dollar is strong atm against the euro lol. few month ago this was $200.

If Fios was available in my area, I would have it already. That is a good deal though.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

BTW, if you just get verizon fios (the triple pack), it's $80 a month.
So, if you have xbox360, pay $10 more and get a free game and one year LIVE.
It's a great deal. Hope they continue this deal for another 8 months.

This. Cox cable is ridiculously expensive.

in america you have like 3 free stations which are basically the news.
you pay a provider to get everything else
for most its between
Basic cable- about 70 channels
premium cable which has a lot more
or fios which has about the same but some channels are differnt ( i know its wierd)
there is also satellite but that is mostly phased out.
its kinda dumb, because other then the free 3 channels each other package is about $50 a month. so its about quality and how much a pain in the ass it is to switch providers.
