Yes well that's another thing I hadn't used in my first game apart from when it was needed. I would have certainly liked to know what a good lawnmower a horizontal skyward strike is the first time too.

controls are meh
graphics are terrible
game world feels closed
can't save anywhere
nope.. "incredible" doesn't describe the game.

You really should experiment more. It's neat seeing how your different abilities affect the environment in different ways.
Did you know you can accidentally kill bugs with yoru sword?

Okay. I will now counter argue.
"Controls are meh"
The controls in Skyward Sword is a new and revolutionary way of using a sword, although it may not be absolutely perfect, it is still a step towards the future of swordplay and all gaming.
"Graphics are terrible"
The graphics in Skyward Sword are made to look like a water colour painting come to life if you already didn't know that. I think that the graphic style suits the game perfectly. Also, because of the graphic limitations of the wii, it cannot have as good graphics as say Uncharted 3. Taking that into consideration, the graphics are probably the best on the wii.
"Game world feels closed"
There are only 3 main areas in the entire game, although that isn't a lot, it makes up by how much there is in each area. The huge sky which you can freely fly around and explore is vast and full of hidden treasures and by sending goddess cubes into the sky, you add to the amount that can be done.
"Can't save anywhere"
Unlike previous Zelda games, you would be able to save anywhere anytime but you wouldn't continue from the exact same place. In Skyward Sword, when you save at a bird statue and quit the game, you will continue from the exact same place you saved. IMO this is better than being able to sace whenever you want because with the bird statues as I said previously, you continue from the exact same place. Plus there is a lot of bird statues everywhere meaning that saving anywhere shouldn't really be a problem.
If you still don't think that this game is amazing like I do then I respect your opinion. But from what I said above, I justified each negative point that you have listed and expanded on it. This game may not be a perfect game but it is my favourite game.
The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword is an amazing game and I think that it could be the future of gaming.

Its not unusual. After the smooth controls of MGS4 I have a hard time replaying older metal gear games.
Time for hype

Yeah it's the controls of the game and how it has evolved to be much better which makes it hard to replay it.
As far as I'm concerned, the graphics for Wind waker, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask aren't that bad. It's the controls. I think they should make a remake of Twilight princess with skyward sword gameplay, that would be awesome. But I'd rather a new Zelda.

Yeah, finished it yesterday, and I wondered just the same. If I could replay an older (3D) Zelda now. Skyward Sword improved the gameplay so massively... especially those convenient things like dashing, quick climbing, realtime weapon & item selection, and of course the controls.
Man, what a fantastic game. Its design is so deep, I totally loved the multilayered areas - never thought backtracking could be so fun. After a while, you really start to know each area by heart.
There are aspects I liked better in other Zeldas, but overall this probably has to be my new favourite game in the series.

That's exactly the feeling i get! All the little things you mentioned such as dashing really make the game a lot more fast paced and action packed. Backtracking certainly is more fun because you explore new areas which would previously be inaccessible.
I played spirit tracks earlier today and it wasn't the same as playing something like ocarina of time. I think 2d zelda games are alright to play.

just got the hylian sheild...but i say reading this thread regarding the fight with the imprisoned i never once thought about jumping on his head
The only thing missing in Skyward Sword is the fairy fountains. Beside that the game is nearly perfect, even better than Ocarina of Time imo.
