Sony is making business decisions to improve the profit coming from the gaming division. Like them knocking down the supported PSN accounts from 5 to 2. Vita not supporting more than one account at a time. Switching to a much more aggressive digital release strategy.
Their TV business doesn't need to go away, but they need to greatly scale back that segment til they have rebuilt their name in tv's. Bravia is a product family that needs to be replaced. That name is stained to badly to fix.
Sony Pictures, Sony Music and Sony PlayStation are all doing very well. Profiting. Sony Electronics is not doing well (Bravia and VAIO). Gaming wouldn't be shut down.
