Forums - Gaming - Bethesda n PS3

Oblivion - played dozens of hours with the PS3 version without any problems. And the graphics in medium distance are much higher res than on X360.

Fallout 3 - not a single bug encountered during my 100 hours beating the game on PS3.

Skyrim - 120 hours on PS3 so far and I only have the occasional system crash, and book tables don't store the books properly but other than that everything is running perfectly fine.

they should want to work for the fans on all consoles

For the most part developers do the best they can with the resources they're given ...

The problem with the PS3 is that the strategy of releasing an exotic architecture that requires disproportionate resources to get adequate performance from it only works when developers will see the majority of their sales on that platform.

Or sony could have made a console that isn't a pain in the ass to work on , and isn't too much relying on CPU (like a handheld device) but rather more on RAM and GPU (like a PC)

why does it rely too much on CPU but most of the CPU load goes on the XMB ? and whats worse is that most of the XMB load isn't really useful stuff , like dynamic moving icons, and dynamic video chat plus bluray streaming, who gives a crap about all that?, instead they should remove dynamic icons and have Cross game chat for example, and redesign the XMB to stop it from raping the CPU , and RAM , thus making more memory for developers, the PS3 is designed the same as an Phone, it's main point is fast "Snap-in-Snap-out" multitasking, but PS3 doesn't need that, because you can't even use most of the XMB while ingame anyways, so its a mess.

I agree with this. It's pretty obvious that if Sony made a console easier to work with, the games would have been just as good on the PS3 as the other platforms. However, I don't believe the problems get big enough to boycott the PS3 versions.

The PS3 might be a pain in the ass to develop for, like Pullus said, but by now Bethesda should´ve had plenty of time to properly work with the hardware, at least enough to avoid a major bug like the lag issues...the console has been out for 5 years now, I´d hope the "it´s a bitch to develop for" card is worn out by now.

Solution: Always buy the PC version of Bethesda games. They will never learn if you keep buying the shitty version

Or if you can't be bothered with the PC get the 360 version since it's about as stable as the PC version.

Or please be bothered since the PC version will get so much better with mods

Well I only go for PC if it's the only way (especially with my laptop not being able to handle graphics like the 360) So the 360 version is the obvious answer for me.

can play skyrim on medium which look like the xbox360 setting on my 300$ desktop without frame rate drops or on high with limited frame drops during intense battles, games are no longer specs heavy as they used to thx to console gaming

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Well I have a $500 laptop and it wouldn't be able run Skyrim at Xbox 360 like graphics, not to mention I would much rather play on my 360 where I can get achievements, use the 360 controller and chat with friends whilst I play it.
