The game is out in Japan now. Lets see what the reception is like.

Cant wait!!! every new video i see now gets me even more hyped up. I love the battles, i really liked the combat system in 13 and this looks the same with some tweaks to improve on it more! i can not wait.
Also looking forward to seeing what the delightful Japanese public think of the game now its released over there.

Do we have any idea on the fan reception so far?

By the way Rob-Ot i saw  that youtube vid with the editor of PS3 magazine. and to be honest from what i've seen i cant believe that characters are realisitic enough to be good enough for me. and they've said a few things, but i still dont trust it.

For FFXIII at this point it was completely mixed with each rating having equal number of votes. Thats a good sign but its still early days.

I warn you don't go to gamefaqs, a ridiculous amount of spoilers have been leaked. I agree with you on the cast, either way the stream has proven to me the game deserves to be bought at least so at some point next year I'll have it and know for sure.

@Amazon:

its weird to read their personal pro's and cons about FF. some are actually hating on square for throwing this game out so fast, without saying its unfinished. also, some dislike the lack of partymembers. (which is understandable, though not a problem for me - i see monster taming as tactical opportunity.)

edit: also, many of 'em state that they arent very far into the game (who would have thought), but to be honest, i dont care for review's of people who played it for 5-10 hours. Of course, it works for giving first impressions, but i think we'll have to wait a couple of day's to get really trustworthy information and impressions about the experience as a whole.
