Forums - Sales - Will the Assassins Creed franchise sell 10M WW (all systems combined) LTD?

Why is everyone so much against AC? You knew what you bought... If you weren't one of the first that bought it, then you should probably know all about how it really is (gameplay, sound effects etc.), all it's bugs and glitches etc. Or do you buy a game without viewing it's reviews? If yes, then it's your own fault!

Ok, maybe the PC and DS numbers are overrated. But it's still almost half way there. So, you prefer high PS3/360 sales numbers. What about this?

4.5-5M (4.75M)

4-4.5M (4.25M)

0.5-0.75M (1M together with PC)

0.25-0.5M (1M together with DS)

TOTAL : 10M (that's it!)

By the way, why don't look at the past, and see how well it went for other likely Ubisoft games? The Prince of Persia franchise sold about 15M WW (all systems combined). Like AC, it didn't feature any multiplayer version, and it was published, and even developed (not all versions) by Ubisoft. Overall, PoP had great sounds, but unfortunately it had sound glitches so you sometimes couldn't hear it. Also the PoP publishing was likewise the AC publishing (the same publisher after all). First, Ubisoft released the normal home console version of the game. The PC version was published closely to the console releases. Later (about 1 year later), they made a handheld version of the game (this time it was for the PSP, but that shouldn't matter so much). However, they released them all (PoP 1: Sands of Time, PoP 2: Warrior Within and PoP 3: The Two Thrones) this way. There was just one exception: The Sands of Time game didn't have any handheld version.

Prince of Persia 4 will be released in this fgeneration or the PS3 and 360. PC and DS/PSP ports are however mostly possible. PoP 3 even had a Wii port, so everything in this series is possible. Finally, Ubisoft made another franchise, but they made it like the PoP games, and even ported it like PoP.

Why would AC, then, sell less than any game of the PoP triology? The Prince of Persia games are very undertracked on VGC, but by looking on other sources I found that the average for ONE game in the PoP franchise was more or less 5M worldwide. AC should beat that, especially because of that PoP 3 sold less than the other two, which maybe sold about 6-7M each. Therefor I said that the PS3/360 AC version will sell 7M together, with a light support from the DS and PC. It won't get any heavily support from Japan, and therefor my DS prediction was overrated, but this prediction is highly possible.

IT'S ALMOST HALF WAY THERE!

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Impossible. I bet it will only sell 4.1 million Lifetime-to-date (LTD). The total lifetime sales of the game will certainly be higher.

Stop abusing acronyms people!

If they replaced the toon with a female, they might make it to 10M.

10 million is too much to ask from a new franchise, I think. More around 7 million.

I meant ONLY the AC franchise published so far (including this year). If you mean the whole triology, then I doubt that it will sell so strong as the first game in the franchise did. Even if the game will be better, which it probably will, it won't sell so good. I see no more than 20M in that case. Probably 15M, as PoP, where the last game had the worst sales. The reason why it will be like this is because there will be so many MORE great games in 2008 than 2007. This great period will actually begin in April 2008, so AC still has 3 months without so much competitions. AC can see forward to 3 well-selling months, and later it will sell like Halo 2 did in 2007 in America. That means 30k at least (maybe 40k) each week if you also include European and Japanese sales. In October or November 2008, when the X-mas shopping begins, it can actually reach 50k each week. After the end of the year, the sales will be minimal, maybe about 10-15k each week (in 2009). However, this is only sales for the PS3 and 360 versions. The AC franchise may see a heavily X-mas boost in 2008, thanks to the Assassins Creed DS game, which will see it's first X-mas.

But in those 3 months, it can actually manage to sell 100k in Europe, and even 200k worldwide each week. No doubt that it will reach 10M sooner or later. Why does everyone hate AC!?!?!? Isn't it obvios that my prediction will come true?!?!?!

NO WAY !!

I would maybe like to see a Wii version since they've made one for the DS and Cellphone. There's also no reason they can't make a PSP version.

Don't worry! Ubisoft ported PoP 3 to the PSP and Wii around 1-2 years later than the original release. There is no reason to think that they aren't going to do it this time! Maybe it will be a much different game, but if you want the AC franchise be availible for all consoles, then the first thing you have to do is to give Ubisoft the time they need!

Actually, I never counted Battles of PoP (only on DS) into the PoP franchise sales! Sorry, forgot that one!

Believe me, all cellphone games that also goes on crappy mobiles (that means that they're not only going on high-tech mobiles) sucks. I tried to avoid this problem by getting a phone that has many exclusives. And it worked! Those games it has got both style and quality! And nice gameplay ofc.

Yeah but they watered prince of persia down to a T raiting.
