The amount of video game soundtracks I can recommend to you depends entirely on how much you like 8- and 16-bit Capcom music.

Probably gonna steer clear of the 8-Bit stuff.  I don't think it aged very well.  I think nostalgia will play a huge part in my enjoyment of the 16-bit stuff, too.  I only played Demon's Crest (awesome game), the Street Fighters and Final Fights of that era.

Anyhoo, I'm off to Frostwire.  I have a lot of music to stea----err...download.

When they sell individual tracks for <$1 on iTunes/Amazon/something is when I'll start paying for video game music. Having to import a £40 soundtrack from Japan for each game is stupid.

No one has recommended Castlevania SOTN yet?

Bastion soundtrack!

I bought this Year the Limited Edition of Catherine and it came with a little "artbook" and it'´s OST, and I as Classic Music fan was pleased with some remixes and original themes...

Castlevania Lord of The Shadows has one very good OST....

i play videogames over 20 years now but i really can't hear the old soundtracks anymore even when i loved them in the past. it's just clear they couldn't put better soundtracks in the games because of the space and that's how they sound compared to soundtrack from nowadays. i still like it to hear it for a few seconds to remember the game but i couldn't hear it with headphones just to hear music.

Sorry, don't know how to display the video here.

To be honest, I could just sit here and let this thread play in the background all day. I only have an 8GB memory card for my 3DS but I can fit a shitload of songs into 3GB and have a ton of space left for videos, games, and whatever else (unless they start doing DLC for the 3DS). I'm good. So far, I've gotten:

-Braid Soundtrack
-God of War 3
-Castlevania
-I'll download more, later.

That first song ths Crissindahouse posted is beautiful. I don't know which game it's from but I plan to rip the video from youtube with Tubemate and then turn that audio into an MP3 for my 3DS. When I get a little more time, I'm gonna go through my gaming catalog and try to find games with sentimental value and try to get their soundtracks. MGS series comes to mind.

I'll probably go to Last.FM and listen to a video game music station too, for inspiration. Lots of great suggestions and I really appreciate 'em all.
