Littered on the floor? How does that happen? The person must have wanted to leave the money there for an innocent bystander to take it. So yeah, I'd take it.

Besides loiterring is a crime punishable by a fine in my state. So, I'd just take the money as way to fine the person & serve justice.

I work in a cinema, so I find money here and there. My rule is anything over £20 and I will hand it in, anything equal or less I would pocket or wait to see if anyone claims it.

But, what gets me is, if you hand that kind of money into people, what do you think the people who you've just given an unclaimed significant amount of cash to do with it? You may as well just pocket it.
