How many of those PS2s sold from 06-now were people replacing their old PS2 phat with the slim? Not to mention Sony took away the BC of the PS3 back in 08 (when only about 20 mil had been sold) I actually got the last BC PS3 they sold, the 80GB BC MGS4 bundle w/ 4 USB ports, now they are no BC 2 USB ports, but they are smaller at least with more HD space.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

The Wii and Wii U can absolutely co-exist after the release of the Wii U. The main problem is that the Wii has to exist to co-exist with the Wii U. I make absolutely no claims about the existence or lack thereof of the Wii so you can take absolutely nothing concrete from what I say.

I love how your last word was analyst. Then in your sig it says Tease. Because that is exactly what I got when I thought the great Squillam was going to give me the final answer on the matter.

 

AS you can see the Wii still exist this Christmas and should do decent up until the Wii U comes out. Too bad the price is already so low or they could have done a reduction again.

Sometimes there really isn't a final answer. The more you know the less you want to actually be definitive because of your understanding of what you don't actually know.

What I really think is that Nintendo is suffering from a regression to the mean. I.E. it's just like a golfer who does really well on day 1 who does worse on day 2 or a golfer who does badly on day 1 and improves on day 2 the average tends to drift towards the mean as in an outstanding performance isn't usually followed by another whether that performance is good or bad. You could say that Nintendo's luck has run out.
