Forums - General - Where would the World be without America?

Well The United States is histories most successful country in virtually every regard with the exception of outsider public perception. lets think of this as if USA just collapsed over-night...

1.) The Middle East would break out into a massive war without the looming super-giant shadow that the States cast on the region, this war would include Russia, Israel, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China...the major fronts would be the areas surrounding Iraq/Iran and the border between Russia and China.

2.) Britain, Spain, and France would lead a campaign to form the new United States, the first true United States of Europe, and along with Japan the new USE would split claim over the former USA landmass - Collapse of the USA would also spell the collapse of Canada, that land would also be up for grabs.

3.) Fearing a Chinese invasion of their homeland and newly gained territory of the US/Canada West Coast- again because of the absence of American influence - Japan would prepare to enter the great eastern war - siding with Russia an its allies for protection.

Russia would claim Alaska and much of the northern Half of Canada due to its close proximity. This would create tension within the USE due to being surrounded by the Russian/Japanese alliance forces to the north and west, already facing turmoil within from much of the eastern European countries who have not yet been absorbed by the USE - the USE would elect to stay out of the Russian and Japanese affairs, choosing instead to reactivate and strengthen the old USA airfields in Northern Maine - the most strategic launching ground for defensive and retaliatory bombing in case of far eastern attacks.

It would certain spell the story of a Third World War if the USA just failed dramatically overnight, you cannot underestimate the power and influence of the USA - it is far more powerful than many people think, simply because of the caution in instills on other militant forces around the world.

Yep, I have to confirm that^^, though I don't think even if the USA fall apart, there will still be people there and they wouldn't be too happy about being occupied by other countries. There would be room for new countries forming, probably some of the american states forming alliances trying to reclaim the former glory of the USA...

Forgetting about the war side of things, the culture would be much different:

- Music would suck, yeah of course many of the greats are British/Canadian such as Beatles, Stones, Queen, Rush, Tragically Hip, etc. but let's be honest most good music is American.

- Movies would suck, name me one good [mainstream] movie that hollywood had nothing to do with. Bollywood sucks and Canada/Britain don't really make movies that I'm aware of.

- Cars might not be the way they are. Go ahead and say American cars suck these days, but America was unbeatable from like the early 1900s (the Model T) until like the 1970's or even 80's.

- TV would be boring as shit. Canada has made some good shows like Kenny Vs Spenny, Corner Gas, Red Green Show, etc. but really 99% of what Canadians are watching is American content.

- There would be no American football, no baseball, basketball was invented in Canada but probably wouldn't have caught on w/o America. Basically the only good sports would be Hockey, Rugby, Golf and Tennis because soccer SUCKS.

- Video games would suck. America makes some of the best video games there is. Plus there would be no Xbox. We would be stuck playing Final Fantasy and Mario instead of having great games like Fallout, Halo, Call of Duty, Gears, Skyrim, etc. I'll take this opportunity to brag that Mass Effect is made in Canada though!

- Canadians would have nowhere to go in the winter. We all go to Florida or California when its cold, and all our old people move to Florida when they hit 65. Without America we'll be stuck here freezing our asses off all year.

That's hard to say as the last 200 years of human history would be completely rewritten.

This.

You really can't say whether the world would be better off or not because there are far too many unknowns.

I will say this though in the past the US has played a vital part in the world economy/important events mostly for the good....granted nowdays our government are just being a bunch of random pillocks and starting unecessary wars and uselessly wasting money on other countries that we could use to help out our own country. We really just need to forget about the rest of the world and their problems and worry about ourselves for a change.

The Spanish Empire, Mexico in specific, would most likely be among the top nations in the world. It would of retained most of what is now Western U.S. There would of been more wars between European powers because without America it would of meant longer British colonization and foreign conflicts would of been imminent.

UMADBRO? And I know movies are MADE IN Canada, but they're still made by American companies.

How is anything I said a "love letter" when its true?

Fact: Ford revolutionized the car making industry, without them the auto industry would be years behind where it is now

Fact: America makes the best TV shows, and I don't mean shit reality shows...the good shows like Dexter, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, anything on HBO...all American

Fact: While like I said, many great bands are British, Canadian and Australian (forgot to mention Australia earlier), a good percentage of the good music is American.

Fact: Soccer is 90 minutes of boring, slow paced play and American Football is way better. Baseball and basketball suck, I'm not defending them.

Fact: A large percentage of the good video games are made in America. Of course Japan, Europe and Canada make some great content but let's watch the quality of games made go down to the shitter if America disappeared tomorrow.

Fact: My last thing about Florida was a joke

TV would be boring, British comedy makes me wanna hang myself. But seriously, the world would be a lot more peaceful. It's not in our right to say that without us communism would still exist. I'm sure people would figure out themselves that its just not right. There would be a lot less wars, and the middle east would be a lot more peaceful.

Honestly, America is not a bad country, just the bottom half of it is. Lol, funny but true.
